Listing Veronika Maine garments with CUE in the title.

Hi all,

Perhaps someone can help me out here.

I have been selling designer clothes on ebay for nearly 6 years. By far the most frequent brands I sell are Veronika Maine and Cue. I have ALWAYS listed my Veronika Maine items with Cue in the title line and have never had any of my listings removed. Today I did have a VR item listing removed by eBay. They said I can't use inappropriate brand names in the title of my listings. I never thought I was, because all Veronika Maine garments are designed and made by the Cue company. Cue have trademarked the Veronika Maine brand name.

Am I still somehow 'violating ebay's policy' by including 'Cue' in the title of my VR clothes even though Cue make the clothes?

Oh, and by the way, there are no less than 71 items presently listed on Australian ebay with both Veronika Maine and Cue in the title. Typical ebay, so inconsistent !!

Ebay will ONLY remove listings when they have been reported. There aren't a whole lot of little oompah loompah's scanning all of the items for sale and pulling out the inappropriate ones. So a competitor (perhaps?) have reported your listings for "keyword spamming" no doubt as they are either V.M. or Cue and not both. Which is probably fair enough. Yes, Cue may produce V.M. but they have their own label, and V.M. are clearly not it.

So you'd better comply by taking note and altering current and/or further listings.

As for the 71 other items infringing the same rule .. well I always think you're better to make sure you're doing everything right and not worry about what others are doing, frankly.

ebay will only remove the items that are reported to them, they dont go looking for them themselves.

unless the tags on the dress actualy say CUE on the tag, you cannot list them as CUE,

I beg to differ with those who say listings are only removed if they are reported; this is true in some cases, but definitely not all.  I have had new listings removed before they are even showing in my Store; yet another one was an item that had been sold, paid for and posted, yet I still received a policy violation and the listing still sits waiting to be marked as sent:^O

Some ebay reps will tell you your item was reported; others will tell you the listing was picked up during a random sweep of new listings, others will say random sweeps are conducted on various categories.

Who do you believe - I don't know, but what I do know is your listing is definitely Keyword Spamming under ebay's rules - only one brand name is allowed to appear in the title and/or the description:-)

ebay and inconsistent definitely go hand and hand:|

Duplicate thread by a DIFFERENT seller-I'd contact her as she says in the last post that she's going to keep hassling ebay.Would be interesting to know how she went.

Trust me, you can hassle them till the cows come home and they will NOT change their mind.  I've had so many policy violations since September last year, I've now lost count:^O  Every time I hassle them on the phone, via dead help and via email - the answer is always the same - your appeal has been denied and the violation and or suspension still stand.

PS  Until September last year I had only ever received one policy violation in 9 years; I had actually forgotten about it until now, so length of time selling, terrific feedback, etc. etc. etc. has no bearing on their decision.

PPS They will never admit they're wrong even when they are:|

I just said exactly the same thing 5 mins ago to my hubby.

Ebay are perfect in their own eyes.

The day they say: 'I'm sorry - we got that wrong' , I'll literally keel over !!!!!

Question is - do people search more for Cue (if at all) or for V.M.? Even as someone not into the clothes world, I do know of Veronika Maine and not really of Cue, so I presume most people aren't searching for Cue anyway. To save yourself from being reported (and as a_beautiful_room said, to try and do everything right), you might be best leaving out Cue.

Ebay went through the whole category and removed all listings from all sellers with Veronika Maine and Cue in the title.  I got done too, as did other sellers I know.
