Listing over the Christmas period

I usually have a break for 3 or 4 days over the Christmas break.

This year will the first one where we have automatic re-listings .... meaningitems will list on Christmas, Boxing Day.

What is everyone else doing ?

I leave my store open and with my auction id I still list a couple of items to end on Christmas day. I have always sold at least one thing.

I've actually scored a few bargains over the years from auctions that have finished on Christmas day. I figure people are too busy doing other stuff so don't give eBay a second look. Items that would normally sell for 3 times as much, I pick up for next to nothing. It's a great day for the buyer, often not so good for the seller.

I'll probably leave my listings active, but if anything sells, the buyer will get a message stating that things will take longer due to the public holidays. I've done that before and not had any issues (a few things sold the Thursday before Easter and couldn't be posted until the Tuesday).

Anything that relists over Christmas will relist as usual. Anything I have scheduled to list over that period, which is not a thing I look at, will be listed.

All of my listings on my selling ID are 30 day with 3 free relists, so I am uninclined to muck around with 120 day listings

I havnt closed my stores for nearly two years and are suprised when sales occur. Last christmas day was actually quite a good sales day. Personally I can think of a few other things I would rather do on Chrissy than sit on ebay.

Christmas bonus from work, lots of free time and alcohol - add a computer - and you have Sales mania

And 24 hours and a hangover later, you'll probably have a shipload of buyers' remorse and a swag of unpaid items to chase up. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Long Weekends and Holidays have always been a good time to buy items at bargain prices - those Auctions that finish on those days.

It seems people are too busy, away and so less bids. I have had a number of people tell me plus picked up some items myself.

Plus add on the number of Not as Described requests near the end of the 30 day period just as the bills start to roll in.
