Just noticed that small 500g parcel price when using the eBay label creator has gone up from $8.30 to $8.95.

It has been worth the effort to enter the weight and dimensions on both the eBay and the Auspost prepaid label systems to get the cheapest rate.
This would be the correct interpretation IMHO.
On the volume eBay produce for AP they should be achieving at least a 15% discount (but probably more via private contract).
That would make a small satchel $7.60 @ -15%, not $8.95.
In reality, eBay is probably getting 20% or more AP pricing discount.
Even at 15% they would be pocketing $1.35 PLUS the fees they charge for postage.
That's a minimum profit of $2.24 profit per small parcel.
If eBay are not going to pass any discount on I would suggest all sellers move immediately to MyPost Business which is charging the same rate but will at least offer you a discount if you can build volume a bit.
eBay are being outright thieves with this price hike.

I underestimated the numbers above.
When I went into the AP pricing schedule and did a few sums I think eBay are making closer to $2.84 per small satchel by not passing any AP discounts along.
Ned Kelly is alive and well and on the eBay BOD

The discounts are based on the receivers location, but if you operate and sell from a regional area you get fleeced. Here in farmland Victoria it costs $8.65 to send a 500g satchel 3,000km to Darwin. Sending the same satchel across the road 10m away costs $8.95 ?
