Malicious bidding and buying, where do the sellers stand?

I will try to be as concise as possible on this issue...I have a few months back listed some girls clothing, after a day or so with 1, or 2 watchers, I have decided to revise my listing to give it a better chance of selling, without having to have it re-listed. So I changed the items and added 2 new ones with a different gallery photo. Shortly after doing this I received a fairly aggressive reply from a potential buyer, stating that what I have done is against eBay rules and that she may report me to eBay, if she could be bothered. I responded calmly by saying that I don't think I have done anything wrong, just merely changing / adding new items to increase the appeal of the auction. I ignored the reporting me to eBay bit. I have then blocked this user, lets call her "Sabine", of course not her real name. The users signed off name was equally unusual.
Week later I had some different items for sale / auction and the same buyer contacted me saying that there were trying to bid, but it looks like they must have been blocked. I responded yes, you have been based on our previous communication. She then responded by saying, that is fine, I will deal with this in my own way. I'm not particularly naive, or paranoid, but I took that as "I have moved on"

The item sold and I posted it the next day. A week later I sent a follow up email to the buyer asking if the item was well received and if there were happy with everything. I heard nothing for 5 and a half weeks and then I received the negative feedback.Shortly after leaving NF the buyer contacted me by saying, if I issued a full refund she will remove the feedback.

I said that I would normally, but I believe that the items sold were exactly as described and that it has been nearly 6 weeks now, and if she was unhappy with her purchase I would have expected contact within 2 weeks. Important thing to remember here is that the item was posted by platinum post and received the next day. I never heard back from her.Only after receiving NF, I happened to look at her name and it was the same first name as the buyer I have blocked 6 weeks earlier.

This buyer then proceeded to list the items that I have sold her for more money, including the gift that I have sent her. She used my photos and description.I investigated further only to find that the both users not only live in the same suburb, but also have the same carpet! I feel quite powerless and disappointed as eBay is not prepared to do anything about this!

Thank you for reading and I apologise for my lenghty rant.

Danemoderne, I had a similar situation where a buyer used my photos to resell an item. I have since learnt that you are able to watermark your photos. You can do this when adding your photos and by selecting the "add or remove options" tab (in Bring your item to Life with pictures) and ticking "enable watermarking...."

Thanks aj111003! She has got away with lying as she has sold my items with my photos and same description and has received a positive feedback for it getting more for the items + postage the what I have asked in my original listing.

Not right at all, but it will continue to happen as eBay allows it.

You can still try reporting the listings if you have the Item Numbers....they will show on the feedback.

Unfortunately there is no law against on-selling at a profit, just against using the original seller's listing without their permission.

You really should try to report her for auction interference. She bid on your item on another ID after you blocked her. This is not allowed.

no eBay do not allow it, in fact they have a specific button/link to click to report it,  but it is up to you, the owner of the copyright on the photos to report it immediately. You have to put your case to ebay in a timely manner, and they will act.

Putney32,

It is to late to report her as her auction has ended, if you try to enter the number it come back saying that it has to be reported whilst the auction is active. So unless there is some other way

she has got away with it and ebay does allow it. Was I suppose to know this information and report while the listing was active

= 7 days. If there is some other way I'm curious to find out.
