I purchased a laptop which I originally paid to have posted but at the last minute I contacted the seller and picked up in person. Now neither of us can mark the sale as complete which I need for tax purposes. There is no apparent way to contact Ebay outside the normal sales parameters to get them to fix this. How can I do something to fix it?

You can't.
The best the seller can do is mark it as despatched.
There is no tracking to show that you received the item.
The seller should have cancelled the transaction as problem with buyer's address & relisted as pick up with cash on pickup.
You would have received a QR Code for the seller to scan & Bob would have been your auntie.
No point contacting eBay... they can't help you now.

Not sure why you need it marked as received, an invoice can be printed out at any time.

the seller can re-invoice as pick-up, then mark as 'payment received & sent'
