I am a casual eBay seller basically just selling my unwanted items (mainly collectables). I have ended all my items so that I can assess the impact of the new money back guarantee policy. If I only sell items for 'Pickup Only' (either by cash or paypal), does the new policy still apply even though I make sure the buyer is fully satisfied with the item on pickup?
Regards

At least I can understand what cat is saying,I wouldn't have a clue what TB is on about maybe cut that law jargon and say it in plain English, this is ebay not a courtroom lol

To each his own. Hopefully TB I'll never need your help, but by gee I hope you are if I do. And the legalise & knowledge is needed to keep ebay honest.

So you're saying that ebay is honest? Well let me tell you you are way off mark if you think that

@tall_bearded01 wrote:I believe that when you wrote “the most useful information to others, and yielded positive results for others, was the post by another poster and simply said the financial ombudsman wants to hear from people affected by PayPal hold” you were referring to the post by Cq-Tech.
I agreed with solution, but as decisions under the Guarantee are made by eBay (no PayPal) and as eBay and PayPal are separate legal entities, and as eBay is not a financial institution let alone a member of the Ombudsman Service, should the seller lodged have a complaint with the FOS, both eBay and PayPal would have responded by saying, “as the decision was made by eBay, and as eBay is neither a financial institution or a member, the complaint falls outside of the Ombudsman jurisdiction". So all I did was expand on what Cq-Tech advised so that dispute could be brought within the Ombudsman’s jurisdiction.
Now if you had necessary knowledge and experience you too would have identified this minor deficit, but then if you did, you wouldn’t have written “the most useful information to others, and yielded postive results for others, was the post by another poster and simply said the financial ombudsman wants to hear from people affected by Paypal hold”
The thing is TB it was not CQ I was referring to, I used an example of a related issue to highlight a point in my post - your post demonstrates, yet again, you jump to conclusions without clarifying facts.
The OP that started the thread I referred to wrote from their own experience and their own conversation with the Ombudsman. No theory, fact.

lol - Interesting that advice from a zero feedback posting ID on the internet is taken seriously by another

Sorry but glib one line rebuttals founded on cryptic clues with no substance simply doesn’t cut it.
The first post in this thread to mention ombudsman was the one I referred to.
So if you are in fact referring to someone else’s advice given on some other thread, then please enlighten me.

Yes this is a posting ID. But then doesn’t eBay encourage their use if for not other reason than it stops the nutters from interfering with your selling account ,if they don’t agree with what you post.
I have a number of selling ID’s, the main one having in excess of 10,000 sales and a positive feedback rating of 99.9. Used to be 100% but a couple of months ago some moron left me a neg because they tried to force a change of mind return under the guise of a PayPal item not as described claim.
