Ho
I am returning to selling on eBay after a long break so I set up a new direct debit card in my account for charges and payouts.
I am asking buyers for cash on pick up but one guy paid eBay instead. To my shock I got a message saying the payout had gone to an account long ago closed from when I was active years ago.
Now I find out the new debit card I put in doesn’t work for payouts only charges from eBay. I have now put in a bank account as well.
i contacted the bank where the account was open years ago and they said the money would bounce back to eBay.
My question is (I can’t find anywhere where I can actually get an answer from EBay) will eBay link the bounced back funds to my account and give me the money when it is returned?
Thanks for any information

As I read it - you will have to open a transaction account - and update those details in your eBay account.
I hope you have signed up for managed payments - if not do so now.

Yes I have now put in an account thanks for the suggestion. No idea what managed payments are do any insight on that would be appreciated.
my question though was about getting the money from eBay that will be refunded by the bank. Any insight on that? Will it happen?

Managed Payments is what you have to sign up to if you want to sell on eBay
It has been the only option for sellers in 5 years
Even for pick up only items (which you cannot 'make' a buyer pay cash, plus you still need to be paying fees owed
If you sold a thing without being signed up and verified to sell, you are not going to a paid
No idea how you would get a refund without doing as required as all sellers are required to do, plus only having a closed bank account linked to eBay
You will need to end all current listings, and read up on selling
All the stuff covered when you ticked the you had 'read and understood' box when listing
