Multiple bidding by same buyer

I have a bidder that has won 3 items  asked for combined postage no problem, has now bid on another 5 items her feedback is good but wondering if I should msg her to see if she is genuine(not sure  quite how to word it) don't want to offend her. I was caught before by our friend who I think would be number 1 on the BBL and get a bit worried when one person bids on a lot of items.Any suggestions Thanks

Multiple bidding by same buyer

Most of my sales come from 'bulking up of orders'....combined postage...I welcome it 🙂

They regularly fill a 3 or 5kg satchel

jimmyjoejoe_jnr: If you did want to send a message. You could ask along the lines of how many items they're planning to purchase, but maybe give a deadline of say 7 days to completed all the purchases or maybe ask of their intent to fill out either a 3kg or a 5kg satchel as twyngwyn suggested?

I suppose the other option is to put on your listings that "Combined postage welcome, but all bids must be completed within X # of days, if you need more time, please contact me prior to bidding"

I hope that helps!

Like twyngwyn, I sell to a lot of  buyers who bulk buy.    As soon as I notice they've purchased an item/items and have more bids on, I send an email along the lines .. "I notice you still have more bids on, I will pop your items to one side until I hear from you.   Please contact me when you finish all bids, and I'll send an invoice with the lowest postage I can ..... let me know "

I have several buyers who fill a satchel (3kgs and 5kgs) and have been buying from me for ages.    I think the main thing is to make sure you stay in contact with each other.    If they have good feedback you should be okay.

You can put a limit on the amount people can buy on one go in your buyer requirements. I don't have a limit because some people keep buying and I'm happy to let them!

If you want to send her a polite message, just say something along the lines of "Thank you for purchasing from me. Please don't pay until you have finished buying so everything can be sent together and you can save on postage costs. You can let me know when you're done by either replying to this message, or requesting a total from your purchase history. I am happy to keep the box open for 14 days. If you wish to continue buying after that, please let me know. Kind regards......"

I think I would do nothing.   The buyer has already contacted you to ask about combined postage, so you expected she would bid on more than one thing.

Sending an email doesn't gain anything IMO - if they are not genuine they will pretend to be - and if they are genuine, there is nothing to worry about.  🙂  After all what can you say "are you genuine?"

I have often bid (bidded?) on multiple items when I see the seller offers combined postage - that's what it's for.

PS:   maybe a good idea that next time someone asks about combined postage you can say "I offer combined postage for items purchased within 7 days"

PPS:   better still, put it at the bottom of all your listings - right now.

I am a multiple buyer from a few different sellers but one in particular is happy to let me keep buying for up to a month....I just make sure that I finalise the transaction before the first item disappears from the list...30 days I think.

I have been buying for many years from this seller and just keep adding to the items till I fill a 5kg satchel.  My guesswork is pretty good but occasionally I go over and have to get a second satchel on the go.

At Christmas I finalise a transaction just in time for the satchel to arrive before the holidays.  As we take holidays during January I never pay for another satchel till the end of the month so it will not arrive while we are out and about.  My best effort ever was a $500+ order.

I have several buyers who have been bulk buying from me  for years.   I have an arrangement that I send and invoice to them each Sunday and they pay during the following week.   When their satchel is full, I send an invoice with postage, and so it goes on.

I only send the emails to people I want to establish an arrangement with and find that way I get to know the buyers better when we are in contact.  Then  I get an email as soon as they're ready, and I send their invoice.

This works really well for me and my buyers are happy too.

I let repeat customers buy over a 2 week period, and intermittently send them an invoice (which includes updated postage) with a message that says:
"You are currently up to (weight)....this is not a request for payment...just keeping tidy".
When they are finished they request a new invoice 🙂
