My PO said no more C&S lodgement receipts being issued...anyone else?

Today I took some Click and Send satchels to my local Post Office as I usually do. I was told that AP are no longer printing and issuing click and send lodgement receipts, so I got nothing to show that I had lodged them.  Has anyone else had this?  The customer service lady told me it was happening Australia Wide.  Will I now have issues with proof of posting in the event of any delivery problems/disputes?

Isn't the fact that you have a tracking number proof that it's been lodged?

No.  Scanning proves lodgement

Looks like all the whinging from Post Offices about not being paid or not paid enough, has finally taken its toll on C&S.

Maybe he's at a post office arguing with them about C&S receipts....

Or on the phone arguing with PayPal insisting that a seller doesn't have to refund a buyer if it was sent regular mail

There's one other alternative - after you create the labels, subscribe to the tracking events. You will get an email that you can keep for as long as necessary (and easily access), for every scan event that occurs.

I think that's a great alternative

But that is all depending on the item being scanned; unless they give you the cash register print out you cannot be sure that it worked.  The counter staff can just wave the reader over it and say done, even if did not register in the system.

It does not really affect me as my expensive items go in boxes with all the extras and are paid for at the PO, and any satchels I send are low value, so not a great worry for me.

It will be interesting what PP will accept from now on.

Well I am a great fan of click & send but I think it is ridiculous if we can no longer get them scanned, I am not bothered about them printing a receipt, but what happens if it isn't scanned in and goes missing before it reaches another scanning point?

No way would having a copy of the C&S label be proof of posting, I hope, everyone could just pay $6.20 for the label and then claim to have posted it when they hadn't.

That is true, and why I generally don't recommend that method in favour of gaining a lodgement receipt, however if the PO feigns scanning an item and you don't get an email updating the parcel status to "accepted from customer", I would be complaining.

Just personally and anecdotally, I do post the majority of C&S satchels in the red box (exceptions are when the item value is more than I want to risk losing), and subscribe to the email updates on other items that meet certain (personal) criteria for a little extra assurance. There has not been one parcel I've sent that has not been scanned into the system at one point or another, however I do know some items aren't scanned at any point, and lodging over the counter is the only way to guarantee a scan event.

I still think AP (if they want to encourage people not to post over Post Office counters as it seems) should make self-scan lodgement possible, more so now than ever - it would not be too hard to have a deposit box where retrieving a parcel was impossible once scanned, but still possible if it couldn't be scanned.

If they've changed it, it must be very recent. I got a lodgement receipt for one I did yesterday. I've got another to go tomorrow, so I'll report back.
