Dear oh dear, I was quite bored tonight and procrastinating about listing ..... now my night just got interesting
Two failed attempts at credit card transfers this morning.
One for around $100 the other closer to $200
Lucky I keep no dosh in Paypal ever
Lucky I link Paypal to a Visa Debit Card that I use ONLY to draw from straight after I buy something
Lucky I have a bank stop on any funds being drawn from my linked bank account
I will ring Paypal in the morning and see what the go is .
Running computer scans now.
The details appear as charge from credit card - only details are This transaction will appear on your statement as "PAYPAL *DENDYFAJARN".

Looks like it has occurred through my phone account ATM

Advise others to check their transaction history via VIEW ALL TRANSACTIONS and not rely on the overview view that you see when you log in.
It was only due to logging in on my phone to check a payment status that shows all recent transactions first (unlike computer view) that I picked this up.
Apparently refused payments don't show in overview page when logging in from desktop.

Sorry to hear that, no suspect activity on my account thankfully.

Thanks DG ....
My pin code on my paypal mobile phone app has been changed as far as I can work out. I had to log in using my password not the code - so my password is probably compromised too - gawd never knew that was even possible.
Just thanking my lucky stars that I keep no dosh in my debit account, that is the only one funds can draw from. I transfer funds into that one, only when I am about to pay for something.
lol and kinda happy that I have had no significant sales today so that the existing paypal balance can't be drawn from either ... how stuffed up is that ??
Edit: overexcited cat

Every cloud...?
I suppose that wouldn't be much of a silver lining though. Maybe a nickel one.
I wonder if they would have still picked it up as fraudulent activity if there had been funds available - I've often let a decent amount of funds accrue in my account (for me, that's anything over $200 ) while I wait for certain promos I know are coming up, so even if I could dispute a transaction and get the funds back, it'd cause some major hiccups if my account was successfully compromised.

Oh b*ggar, that's no good cats - sorry to hear. At least it was refused, and you had no funds, but would still leave you with a most sickening feeling. The bank rang me once to say someone had tried to use my Credit Card on-line, so they cancelled the Card completely - & I was without it for about 10 days until they issued a completely new one. Bit of an inconvenience because it was my Business Credit Card, but way better than being scammed 🙂 But it did leave me feeling very uneasy.
Thank you for your warning, took your advice and checked my account, all ok there, thank you. I hope there are no repercussions for you

Feeling relieved that I have NO DOSH (readily accessible) to steal .....

Yep... similar thing's happened to me recently.
My VISA credit card linked to my PayPal account has been hacked 4 or 5 times over the past couple of months. I've had no problems with my bank bouncing the debits and crediting me for all amounts (upwards of $800 in one case) but I'm a bit concerned about the security of PayPal's servers.
Luckily I don't have a bank savings account linked to PayPal.

cats, Didn't you get paypal emails to confirm the transactions?
