Hi
I posted an item using Express Post last Wednesday & the buyer still hasn't received it. I called Australia Post this Wednesday & they told me that the area it was being sent to was not cover buy Express Post and therefore would be posted like regular postage. which could take up to 2 weeks. They also said it could be delayed because of the bushfires in N.S.W. Is anyone else encountering this problem. I'm worried that I've tried to do the right thing so that there would be some form of tracking on the item & early delivery & now it's turned into a disaster. I'm also worried the buyer is going to give me negative feedback.
thanks

I'm pretty sure that most people in Australia are aware of the bushfires and if the person receiving the parcel lives in NSW, I'd be willing to bet all the money in my money box that they are aware of them and of the major services being interrupted.
Trust me when I say this, but a missing letter is not a disaster when compared to the bushfires ravishing NSW atm.
I get that you are worried about your business' reputation, so maybe message the buyer and let them know what Australia Post have told you.
I guess all that you can really do is cross your fingers and hope that they are understanding.
You have tracking, are you able to track your item? does that show you where it is?
For next time, maybe double check where express post is available.
Did you know that all parcels now come with tracking and it is possible that a letter sent with registered post (so also has tracking) may actually be a bit cheaper for you to send? You can send a fair bit of stuff as a large letter as long as it is no thicker than 20mm (and some other dimensions too)
If you do end up with a negative for slow postage, consider ringing eBay and asking about it's removal considering the circumstances, or construct a carefully worded reply that explains the situation to anyone who may read it.
Best of luck with it

Same goes for customers ..I have a 100% buyer who has not paid for their items.. This could be that their computor is no longer alive...
