We had a newbie (ZERO FB) buyer purchase two items to the total value of $50 and did not pay.
The ID looks like one of these guest buyer IDs although in the sales record is what looks like a valid address.
On the 3rd day I now see an ebay note on both transactions stating that this user is no longer registered on ebay.
Now I have been unable to open a UPI case as its only the 3rd day. I will try on day #4 of course.
Have never seen this situaton before and not too sure now how we go about getting our fess back on this.
No messages from ebay about it.
Any thoughts on how to proceed from here to recover our fees?

Clarry - it is a while since I had this situation but from what I can remember when you open the unpaid item dispute it closes straight away and you are credited immediately for the FVF as the buyer is no longer registered.

Clarry, just get on the phone. You probably won't be able to open an unpaid item case if the buyer is no longer registered.

I thought that while a buyer or seller still has transactions pending they can't close their accounts?

crow - it is probably not the buyer closing the account but ebay closing it.

Hope that's the case Jen.
Will need to wait and see what happens tomorrow as that is day #4.
I will post the results back to here as a learning exercise for others.

An account can be effectively closed as in it will not be active in any way visible to other members but if there are recent transactions the account remains in ebay's records and is not completely closed until after 180 days.

Jen.... (and other readers)
This morning I have opened unpaid item disputes on the two outstanding transactions.
They instantly disappeared from my Awaiting Payments list as tho they were closed and finalised, but there are no messages from ebay like you normally get to advise that they have been closed and have received a fee credit.
I guess I will have to watch my fee invoices closely to ensure we get the credits on these.

STOP PRESS...
Sorry should have looked first.
I just looked at my current fees balance and can see that the two transactions FVF's have been credited.
So all is good.
