I sold an item on another id, I am a powerseller on that idea(big deal you say) not such a big deal i know 🙂
anyway, I buy all my items from australian wholesalers, as I have started a business and serious selling on ebay. I do not buy items from shonky companies from overseas, who arent real wholesalers with quality control. so to make this as short as possible, I sold a ankle bracelet to someone and they are now trying to claim, that the crystals on it, are not genuine swarovski crystals. Like i said i deal with australian wholesalers, who I get to meet at fair trading shows etc, so we are serious about the companies we deal with and the products. So this is the first complaint, in all of the items i have sold, being made with swarovski crystal. First time I have heard this about our items. buyer, accused us of deliberately lying, and selling fakes on purpose. My jaw dropped as this is definitely not something we would do, not on purpose anyway.
So I contact my wholesaler, and ask him to explain, with that exact item and he tells me, that this line of item, have all been made using swarovski crystal. So I pass the email onto the buyer and ask her to send it back if she is not happy for a full refund etc. She has not even mentioned anything about agreeing to sending it back, only saying that she will get it checked out properly. Also threatens that she will contact ebay and get our account suspended due to us selling this imitation and lying about it. I told her to watch herself and the accusations, as I have now notified my wholesaler, ebay and will be taking further action towards her for her false accusations, with no proof.
what would you do, in this situation, this nutcase, has had problems with most transactions, a few negetives, to other sellers which seem bizarre to me, some neutrals and even some positives that are negetive positive comments. Some of the items she does seem happy with, but alot of them she isnt.
I cant believe, idiots such as this person, is allowed to trade on ebay.
If you would like to know more info on the item number you can always message me in private , as i can assure you all, this is one for that special list of yours.
I havent mentioned the item here, as most of you know that, most of the time, you can get alot of trouble, letting others on board know your selling id, so for this reason, i want to keep it as private as possible
thanks all

that is a very good point kopenhagen, i think you are onto something here. I was confused and couldnt work out, what the buyer was on about, but now i think i know. The add does say, made with swarovski crystals, as our wholesaler had described them.

So you can get very good quality, well cut crystals that are not the Swarovski brand.

I believe you can buy specific swarovski crystals in spot light, i have seen them in packets, and i believe this is what these are.
the add says, also made with swarovski crystals, now if you can buy these loose in bead shops and spotlight, then, obviously these crystals can be used, on bracelets, but arent from "swarovski" company or brand maybe?? I am going a round in circles a bit here lol.

I sell some items with crystal from Asia - mostly for horse jewellery, so expensive pieces of swarovsky isn't needed, and not desirable either - horses have a habbit of rubbing them off on trees etc.
But when placing Swarovski crystals along side their Asian counterparts, there is a difference and it is quite easy to see.
Genuine Swarovsky crystal and beads are 3 or 4 times more expensive than Asian crystal too. So for buyers - if it is cheap or seems to good to be true then it isn't Swarovski.

My dog has Swarovsky cystals in his collar. (Very pretty).
They are common and not exactly of any real value. (Sorry).
You know your product is genuine, hold your head high and let her that your product is 100% as per the description.
Some customers will say anything in an attempt to try to keep a product and extract a refund.
Remember to block her, so she can no longer purchase further products from you.

Pretty.....yes agree with that.
Not any real value?.....Do not agree with that at all. If you have ever been in a Swarovsky Crystal Shop and looked at the prices I think you will find that they are quite valuable. Some limited edition pieces are very valuable.

Creations, not that I doubt the authenticity of your product, maybe it would be a good idea to take it for an appraisal as suggested. I dont know anything about Swarovsky so for my own sake i did some quick reading (im sure you did too) Seems that even jewelers are tricked into whats real or not. I think its quite possible that your supplier could just be buying "genuine swarovsky" under the same guise many others are. Seems like there is alot of "genuine" swarovsky out there thats not real at all and the term "swarovsky" gets thrown around quite freely now a days. At least you will have piece of mind if the issue comes up again.

oh sorry and i reread your post and of course it seems your supplier is very legit and such. Also read that real swarkosvsky crystals come in a special bag with the swan etc ( which is often imitated) and often do not come strung but individually well this is what i read:
First of all, when purchased, Swarovski crystals usually will not come strung together. They will usually come in bulk and depending on the size of the crystals, the bulk packages will range anywhere from 10 gross to ½ gross and will be in well-branded, sealed envelopes. Something else to look for on the packages to ensure you are buying genuine Swarovski crystals is a seal with an authenticated silver-toned hologram that says "CRYSTALLIZED".
And it also mentions there will be no bubble within the crystal.
So anyway worth learning as much as you can so even when you go to the trade shows you arent taking what they tell you at face value i guess. 🙂

yes i hear what your saying licoricebaby, but consider this for an instant, what if my wholesaler is getting their own bracelets made, so these arent the company swarovski making the bracelets, but he is using the swarovski crystals only which apparently can be purchased loosely, to make their own line of bracelets with, then they cant possible have the swan sign can they as that would be illegal. but they can say they have used the crystals themselves, as they can be purchased loosely. No where in the add do i state, that these are swarovski (company) pieces, only that the crystals have been used. so taking them to a jeweller, and having to pay to get a written valuation, is a joke in my opinion. If i had to prove that the whole thing, was made by the swarovski company themselves and had the swan symbol on them, then that is a different matter.

Yes but authentic swarovski crystals are actually sold to authorized dealers for the making of jewelry in this packaging. So to those using the authentic crystals to make their own jewelry they would have purchased the crystals through an authorized dealer in this type of packaging. So there is actually authentic swarovski crystals sold by Swarovski® A.G. to consumers. So in the future you know how the crystals would be packaged once your supplier has purchased them, maybe the suppliers should be showing them in their original packaging at their trade shows.
Heres an article 🙂
but here is the article that talked more about the packaging:
