Need help contacting eBay about a seller ignoring me

Most likely a seller such as this would pee their pants laughing and assume it was a child sending such a 'threat'

The seller is well aware they cannot offer a warranty

The seller is well aware the buyer is out of time for any kind of case or recourse

The seller is well aware they cannot and will not be audited

The seller, if they are especially dodgey ++ then some may even decide to threaten something of their own. or at least some kind of empty promise to give the buyer false hope

Of course, to offer  actual real life advice on how to avoid a situation like this to start with would be asking too much

You have a vivid imagination . LOL.

I have given a couple of brief mentions of what worked for me.   No false hope given to seller so cut that out!

Seller can just give it a last ditched try. Sometimes this works.

So was your experience regarding a warranty claim against an Australian registered seller on eBay?

If not then what was the action you're talking about?

To be honest your post was all about giving false hope to the OP, by promulgating advice that is patently unworkable through either eBay or against the seller.

Seller can just give it a last ditched try. Sometimes this works.

Presumably you meant "buyer" there. How many times has your actions worked on eBay? Or more to the point, how many times have they NOT worked?

They are ignoring you because they can, without any repercussions.

They know there is nothing much you can do to get back at them and they have no intention of helping you out.

As others have said, warranties are only likely to be valid if you're buying from an Australian stockist or reputable store on ebay.

If you're buying from an overseas seller, even worse, no way you can enforce any warranty.

Don't bother emailing ebay, you'd be unlikely to get a real person replying-more likely to be an automated reply.

Don't bother with live chat either as your issue isn't with ebay or the sale, it is with the warranty. You had 30 days to raise any problems with ebay and 180 with paypal.

From ebay's point of view, you bought something, the seller sent it and it was what you ordered and obviously in good working order at the time of receiving it, so exactly as described. Job done.

The warranty is a whole different issue and not covered by ebay & paypal.

I just hope it isn't something you paid a lot of money for.  I suppose the only consolation is at least it lasted almost till the end of the warranty.

Yes, springy, if they reply at all it is usually an empty promise to send a replacement that never arrives (like when an item is DOA, same tactic), but in most cases they don't reply, as many buyers who come here have said.

Authorized resellers always reply and are helpful.  Years ago (before I had my current laptop) I had another laptop that had a problem under warranty and they replaced it without issues, and they even picked up the old one without me having to send it back myself.

I think a lot of people don't understand that Ebay is a selling Platform,  about like Westfield is a bricks and mortar selling platform.    And it's individual sellers, who people buy from.

If you had a dispute with Kmart which is inside Westfield,  you deal with Kmart,  even if you are unhappy with Kmarts response,  you would never go and complain to Westfield,   well the original OP may,  but thats not how it works.

Sadly Ebay do offer some additional benefits that Westfield would never do,  but thats because they have decided it suits their business model.    But they can't enforce non existent warranties.

Move on,   have a bundy,  and take care.

Yes, I meant buyer. Good spot!  My tactic has worked more times than it hasn't. And no, it wasn't for warranty. I admit. However it was for a crook so warranty or not warranty, worth a go.

Tell you more about my experience another time. I have guests to feed.

Hi, I'm very sorry to hear of this bad experience.

Besides feedback, you only have one other road which could  be a dead end. Sometimes not! With following up on feedback and you have to be very careful what you write as seller can ask for it to be removed.

OP can't leave any feedback for the seller.

Follow-up feedback on the seller's feedback is not an option for the OP as they did not leave feedback for the seller.  They have only given feedback in the last month and beyond one year . . . outside of an October 2020 purchase window.

They have received 2 feedback in the period 6 months to one year.  HOWEVER, I don't think any seller would be one bit concerned if a buyer left a follow up to feedback that would only be visible on the buyer's feedback profile.

Sorry to have punched holes through some of your advice.  The bit about an 'audit', well, that is just so laughable that I seriously can't bring myself to go there as I burst out laughing even at the thought of sending such a message to a seller who wouldn't give two hoots!
