Just copped a neg weeks after the sale date on a jumper that I thought had been described quite accurately. No communication at all from the buyer, just a surprise neg. Any advice on how I should respond to the feedback? Or should I just not bother, take a deep breath, pour myself a drink and get on with my life?

Well I would be tempted to leave a follow up saying 'Sorry your ass was bigger then you thought' but would probably email them saying that if they were unhappy with the jumper as the measurements were incorrect you would have been happy to refund.

Because you have given clear measurements in the listing, you may have grounds for removal. If I was in your shoes, I'd phone eBay tomorrow and ask; no harm in trying:-)

I would try all the above solutions - ask if eBay would remove it, if that fails see if the buyer would reconsider. If all fails, i would leave reply to the comment:
measurements in cm are in listing, maybe you thought they were inches?

Patchoo, I'm wondering the same - maybe she fits a larger brand size 10, whereas this jumper is what I consider to be a regular size 8, with plenty of stretch in the knit. The mannequin was ajusted to my daughter's measurements, and she wears Australian size 8 - 10 from most clothing outlets.
Maybe the buyer shrunk the jumper in the wash before putting it on? Or she could just have really big norgs.

I would email her and politely ask which measurements were incorrect before deciding on the next move. You may have put incorrect measurements or your buyer just hasn't bothered to read the listing correctly.
There seems to be so many negs and neutrals being left lately with no communication first. I had my first neutral recently and yes ebay removed it for me.

Hmm, If there isnt a eBay rule, Negs can be removed if the buyer neglected to contact the seller first, then, there should be.
As for buying clothing sight unseen, buyers really cant blame sellers if they dont fit perfectly, leaving a neg [without contact] really is rude.
If all else fails on the removal, i would use PJ's follow up on the feedback lol
