Negative Feedback Lies

Hi Everyone, I have had a 100% positive feedback score for years. I have just received my first negative feedback because the buyer would not pay after weeks of promising, so I cancelled the sale. They have now left negative feedback stating the clothes were only good as rags and to beware of seller. Of course this is a lie as she never did pay for them, and they were not sent. I am yet to leave feedback for her. I know I can't get feedback taken off, but surely she can't just lie like that? Any suggestions will be helpful.

where did they get the $164 from? Is it possible that they have left FB for you intended for somebody else?

wow, they've left 5 negs in only 24 transactions, 3 of them in the last week or so.

I'm sorry, but my only suggestion is to contact eBay. Hopefully someone can advise if you may have grounds for removal as your item sold for $18, but their FB suggests they paid you $164. Sounds like that might be classed as false FB perhaps?

Good Luck with it.

You need to ring ebay (don't waste time emailing or talking to dead help).  Ask the ebay rep to look at the messages between the two of you, and I'm sure you'll find that nasty red dot will disappear:-)

It looks they they've left a neg for you in error, although their feedback profile in general (left and received), isn't exactly stellar.

If the buyer left the feedback for you by mistake and it was intended for the other seller, eBay will only remove if the buyer does something about it, so you would need to ask them to request the FB removal, or you could send them a request to revise the feedback to a positive.

Failing that, you could request the removal on the grounds on defamation, since the comment doesn't apply to you at all. That requires filling out a form, getting it witnessed and submitting it to eBay.

In the future, I would recommend opening unpaid item disputes for buyers that mess you around like this; I know cancellations seem to resolve the problem more 'nicely' and faster, but non-payers can't leave you any kind of FB if an unpaid item is closed against them.

Yes you can have the feedback removed just contact ebay and explain to them that the buyer never paid and that you never sent so the buyer has prematurely given negative feedback when the transaction has not even been finalised. You need to put in a dispute for payment not received against this buyer.

Not a dumb question, at all.

Up the top right hand corner of your screen is a tab called Customer Support. In there, you will then find another tab towards the left near the top saying Contact eBay. Once there, on the left hand side is a link to Selling. Then on the Far right is a category called Selling Problems. Choose one.

Then you will be given a number of methods to contact eBay, there is even one where you can have them call you back within a few minutes.
