Sigh....
We have PayPal for disputes and you know what even PayPal does not demand the seller pay return postage and PayPal allows files and faxes to prove case issues and has decent support in Australia for complex disputes.
As soon as ebay started this new rubbish policy of "customer satisfaction" and a complete and obvious grab for the christmas customer I have had in the past week 3 disputes started all of which give me the seller NO OPTIONS but to refund in some form or pay for the items return.
Bare in mind before this problems were only one every few months and sorted no problem (bar the complete idiots)
WHAT A RIDICULOUS SITUATION the sellers now have to face.
Customers are not stupid and will play this system black and blue and with ebay fee's including PayPal fee's at around 10% making it more than our profit plus sellers from other countries (and even here in Australia) avoiding tax makes it almost impossible to make any money at all which makes me wonder whats the point anymore?
Seriously ebay your new policy is holding sellers to ransom and circumvents at least in Australia the sellers rights to NOT ACCEPT NON FAULTY, MISUSED OR DAMAGED GOODS BACK.

i noticed you are selling computers and computer related items-incredibly risky items in this day and age and also the most scam prone of items (besides computer games/console games).
I would suggest listing all your items as "spares or not working" that way buyers won't be able to do squat all when they whinge the computer purchased off you gave up on day 179, whether they are honest or false.
I saw some chinese sellers recently listed tablets in the car section and buyers have complained that the units broke down-guess what when buyer protection claims were done they got the answer that ebay buyer protection/paypal buyer protection does not apply to items listed under the car section.
Another way i think to beat the system is to list as local pickup only since buyer protection does not cover items listed under local pickup only-there are lots and lots of people listing and doing this.
If i am completely wrong with what i am saying please correct me.

Problem is that is kinda dishonest and we are not like that.
The second bigger problem is that while its all nice and cozy to offer DOA return freight costs the reality is that the buyer protection system does not limit itself to doa claims and can be used universally until the item rolls over out of the ebay database.
Another problem is that its great to assume a buyer knows what they are doing with electronics often they dont and the protection system does nothing to allow proof via pictures or anything really other than text ... something ebay staff have problems reading.
Finally the final straw is all the small items that sell are not worth returning so we are left to just refund and walk away even though the items probably not faulty in any way just buyer stupidity.
I have had 5 claims started already and they are ALL stupid, say goodby to cheap items on ebay as it will scare away all those sellers or just allow 6 month rip off scammers from china to bodge their way through ebay with dodgy **bleep** and run.
Right now in my hands I have a SOny Camera dropped in water CLEARLY as there is water in the unit yet ebay said customer gets a refund..... USELESS
All my complaints are of ebayers who say that the items are "cheap XXXX from China" well guess what, all electronics are generally made in China and for around $9 on a cheap item like taht what do you expect after ebay fees hit the seller?
DUH!!!!!!!!
Ebay is sucking more and more these days.
I am all for a safe selling and buying enviroment however ebay you have only looked at the buyers....... what about the sellers?
Oh thats right we sweep it under the bottom line figures dont we........ Ebay doesnt even refund the fee's when forcing us on a return.
