New scam that could lock up your computer purporting to be from Auspost

Hi all,

I am posting this message on both the buyers and sellers boards because I think it is pretty important to both groups.

There is a report on the ABC news tabout  a horrible new scam out there that could affect anyonereally badly.

I won't go into details, but let the article provide the details.

Ransomware is not new, but it's a good reminder to people to make sure all their data is backed up. Surprisingly, if you pay the random, they do actually unlock your computer.

Keep your computer backed up regularly (on an external hardrive or cloud), and it wont matter if you get any ransomware, viruses (most of them, not all), or if your computer dies for any reason, or even if its stolen.

Tip is right, ransomware has been around for many years... most of them are easy to get around, and for others like Locky, just use your backup.  

(Also, Locky targets those with bitcoins / virtual wallets, not just anyone).
