I have recorded no sales since the 25th September. Is anyone else experiencing low sales volume?
Last weekend sales were great this weekend ... dead ๐

Hi Winkler
Strangely enough my sales have been very good to almost 'normal'the last couple of weeks. This is after being close to non existent for pretty much the first half of the year. There you go - I've probably jinxed myself now!
My website has been busier too, so I suspect that in my case it's the craft spenders finally breaking the budgets after a year of watching their $$$s and stocking up for Christmas. Or coincidence.
Back to ebay I'm seeing a lot of familiar customers the past couple of weeks that I haven't seen in ages. Again - coincidence? Who knows!

Our sales were fairly brisk in September and have started well this month too - although we are a new and growing business (100-150 sales a month at the moment). Seen no noticeable slowdown at all.

Is ANYONE actually selling stuff on eBay these past weeks ???
My September sales where 25% below average. September last year was 20% above average.
I have been putting a lot of time into another venture this month and not spending time listing etc. so this would account for the drop. When I do list new items they are getting good sales rates. The last week has been slower than normal but had a couple of very good days yesterday & today.
Conclusion - Ebay is volitile. You have good days and bad. I think ebay may still be having technical problems which could account for the "no sales" days we have had recently.

Interestingly, despite my sales being pretty much on par with expectations, I received a letter this afternoon from a recent customer which mentioned not being able to find me on eBay at all, despite hours of searching.
Not only that, the main reason for contacting me was regarding a product they're looking for (which I stock but not in the materials they need) and because they couldn't find me on eBay, basically sought a direct transaction, so these issues clearly don't just affect sellers (in that buyers won't just spend their money with another seller or look for a similar product on eBay - this person took the time and effort to send me a handwritten message and post it to me. While I am quite touched that they went to that effort, I'm disappointed in eBay that they had to).

I am a very low volume hobby Seller however I have a reasonable $ value average per transaction.
I have no complaints about September but have felt invisible in the months prior.
Ya just cant pick it or count on anything, just when you think things are picking up the rug gets pulled out from under you again.

Hi winkler78,
Thanks for getting others back on topic although I have to admit I am finding all the QS talk extremely interesting as well.
I had my first sale since the 25th September today ๐ I couldn't believe my eyes! YAY!!! And it was a double bunger!
Not getting too excited though at least before I see what the next few days bring. I really think lots of funny stuff has been happening on eBay. I suspect they discipline us by making sure our sales drop away somehow. Not sure how but all things are possible, I say.
Hope things improve soon ๐

Hi DG,
Very interesting that your customers could not even find you on eBay. This only adds to my suspicions that funny things happen when eBay feels one needs a little discipline. Perhaps all of this QS talk has got eBay a little offside.
I have had a few little run-ins with eBay lately so I find it strange that after last night when I edited all my listings to accept returns, first time ever, I suddenly get a sale today after 7 days without one. Very timely, me thinks! Or am I becoming paranoid?
