So with the new managed payments, you need a valid form of photo ID. I do not have a valid passport or drivers license. I only have a passport that’s expired, student ID Or my birth certificate.
I told the person who was trying to assist me on chat and all they had to say was “renew your passport or get a drivers license” both of which take a fairly long time to do in australia and takes $$$.
so what happens from here? I can’t find a number to call or anyone to help me. I have money that is available to be withdrawn But isn’t due to this.

Please do
Same rules for all sellers and not 'new owners'
This was announced about 2 years ago so why wait until now to spread the word?
Best of luck with Gumtree

Australia doesn't have a national ID number.
The numbers aren't needed for verification because the Govt will not verify Australian's data to some random foreign controlled company...... thank god (if a god existed).
That aside it is against Australian Privacy Legislation. Its called the Privacy Act 1988 and predates EBays new rules by a few decades.
Just use a forged document. There is no way ebay can check it. Use GIMP.

Why do they need to verify you. You have a valid credit card in the system? Surely that's enough.
I'd be real careful about giving people your birth certificate. Thats just going to create a library for scammers when it gets hacked, or sold. And how can they verify it anyway. Births Deaths and Marriages will not verify it. Have you ever tried to do a bit of geneology and wanted to get a copy of your mothers birth certificate. They will not give it to you. Because they know that with a birth certificate people can go and open bank accounts etc.
Try and ring your local cop shop and see if they will verify a drivers licence for you.

"Provide details to get paid
Government regulations require these details so we can send you payments. We need this info so we can verify your identity."
That is a straight out lie. The Australian Government does not require this. Ebay is Swiss held? Do Swiss laws require this? I doubt it given their strict banking laws and certainly Europe privacy laws don't allow it.
Gumtree is looking good.

From your three posts I guess you aren't going to ever sell on eBay again, if you are going to refuse to give them proof of your identity.

Perhaps it's escaped your notice that eBay is required by law to verify your identity, despite you claiming that's not the case.

You recommend and encourage the making and use of fake ID.
You even reference how to do so.
Perhaps you’re not aware that this is not a private forum.
You are obviously also unaware of ID requirements in relation to financial institutions and in other circumstances where proof of ID is required, notwithstanding your views that appear to suggest that you can quote privacy concerns and be exempt from such requirements.
❝Banks and other service providers have a legal obligation to verify your identity before they can provide services to you. They may also have obligations to collect other information about you to comply with anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing legislation. This is one way to keep Australia safe from serious financial crime such as money laundering and terrorism financing.❞
