Non Payers becoming a real problem with no repercussions

There needs to be stronger action against non payers, as they appear to hold all the power. Between my daughter, sister and I, of 9 recent sales, SIX have been non payers. Far too many bidders treat Ebay as a game, with little to no repercussions.

If Ebay can be quick about taking fees, etc from a seller's account, surely the same should apply to sellers.

Why are'nt you all reporting the non payment so there ARE repercussions in the form of strikes against the 'buyer's' accounts?

That way sellers with their blocks in place won't also be subject to these time wasters?

If you have reported the non payment, you won't be charged fees on the non sales

If you don't pay them, eBay consider you have indeed been paid

heaps of repercussions,  if you open a non payment case at 4days and 1 second,  buyer gets a strike,   you get your money back (in full)

and if sellers  make sure they have blocks on they cant purchase.

PS.  Why shouldnt Ebay take thier fee's, they have advertised your product,  run the sale,  introduced you to a buyer.  It is hardly Ebays fault the buyer didnt pay.   A bit like if you failed to send,  thats not Ebays fault either.   They have come to the party

OP, do not send reminders to nonpayers. If you send a reminder / invoice, the 4-day period resets and you are in effect giving the “buyer” 4 extra days.

Instead, as said, wait 4 days, and the option to cancel the sale with the reason “buyer didn’t pay” will appear. That is when to cancel the sale, because

• you won’t be charged fees (eBay will know the sale is cancelled), and

• the buyer will receive a non-payment strike.

The strike is invisible. The buyer will probably not even be aware of it. You won’t be able to see it. But … you can block all buyers with two non-payment strikes over the last 12 months, by setting your buyer requirements. (Do that now.) Many (most?) sellers have those settings in place.

That will stop serial NPBs from being able to bid on or buy your items.

If you follow coutess's advice (and the advice of others), you can give them a strike for non payment plus get your fees back.

Six out of nine is a lot. I have read that some sellers have immediate payment required & so never have the issue of non payment. That might be worth considering for some of your listings.
