Non paying Buyer - Ignores messages

Hello, Please give advise. Have sold item 27/8/13. Buyer purchased furniture to collect and pay on collection.

Have messaged 3 times and get no reply. Can't use Resolution Centre till 31/8. How long due I need to wait till I can relist.

Is it preferable in future to ask for Paypal payment only to sort out who is serious purchaser or not. Thanks. A

Open a non payer dispute tomorrow, wait 4 days, close if no payment & ebay will issue them with a strike.

You can then relist.

Generally speaking, with pickup items, most people would probably collect on a weekend & if you want the item collected before x amount of time, you need to make that very clear in your listing.

Paypal should NOT be encouraged for pickup only items as you have no seller protection in the event of a dispute & the buyer has no protection either-cash only for pickup items.

If your buyer doesn't pay, make sure you also add them to your blocked bidder list so they can't bid again.

JMO but I think you're jumping the gun by sending 3 messages in 3 days-not everyone checks their emails every day.You could also give them a call if you want.

Thanks for reply, just learning the ropes. Did mention I was moving.

Will wait and see. No need to reply. Cheers

I'm relatively new at this thing and just had this happen to me.

Buyer "bought" at "buy now" price and then (after several emails chasing them to confrim collection arrangements) decided to back out of the transaction with no reasonable explanation.  What a ****'s act and a waste of my time.  I'm sure this is against the rules, and certainly not in the spirit of things.  I can't seem to give them negative rep either - if there is a process to do so it's not obvious.

I've reported it to eBay, with a view to cancelling the transaction and relisting the item, so hopefully they do something, but what a pain in the a**e.

well you cant give a neg f/back but you CAN give them a strike for non payment

providing you do not request a Mutual Cancellation, but instead open a non payment dispute and close it again in 4 days time.

that gets your fees back AND gives them a strike AND means they cannot leave you any f/back.... best way out of an anoying situation
