Once a bid is placed, the BIN disappears and it becomes an auction.
The BIN is not a reserve as eBay Aus does not have reserves in most categories.
A starting price is your reserve so always start your auction at a price you are prepared to sell at in case you only get one bid.
I suggest you cancel the bid and revise with a price you will sell at.
And message the bidder explaining you are new and thought the BIN was a reserve.

just what part of the selling process do you really not understand?
if you have an item you want $50 for and thats the bottom price, then dont start the auction at anything lower than $50
YES, you do have to "follow through" OR get a big RED negative on your selling record.

" Once someone bids, the Buy It Now option goes away and the item will be sold to the winning bidder"
and
" Enter the price at which you wish to sell your item or items as the Buy It Now price"
http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/sell/starting_price.html#auction Selecting a price for your item
Selecting your starting price requires balancing between how much money you want for the item, and what buyers will pay for it. As part of your pricing strategy, you can research the ending bids for similar items. You can look at similar item completed eBay listings using the completed listings search.
Setting your price involves not only deciding the starting price of your item, but also selecting pricing options based on which selling format you select.
Pricing for Auction listings
The starting price is the lowest price you are willing to sell your item (unless you also specify a reserve price). Bidding will start at this price. Sellers have found that setting the starting price too high may discourage bidding
If you have a problem with your winning bidder, you can make an offer to a non-winning bidder under certain conditions. This Second Chance Offer contains a Buy It Now price equal to the non-winning bidder's bid amount
You can also create an Auction listing with a Buy It Now option. The Buy It Now price must be at least 30% higher than the starting price. Once someone bids, the Buy It Now option goes away and the item will be sold to the winning bidder
Reserve price (Motors only): You can specify a reserve price, when selling in select Motors categories.
Pricing for multiple item listings
You need to enter a starting price of at least $0.99. Learn more about Multiple item listings.
Pricing for Fixed Price listings
Enter the price at which you wish to sell your item or items as the Buy It Now price
When you list in Fixed Price you can also select the Best Offer feature.

End the auction and relist starting the auction at the lowest amount you're willing to accept for the lamp. It's listed as pick up only so the chances of getting multiple bidders is pretty slim. Even if you do get a few, they probably won't go much over 5 or 10 bucks.
When you relist, remove the Cash on Delivery option in the postage section. Cash on Delivery is NOT cash on pick up. COD is a very expensive service. You can add in your desription for buyers to pay cash on pick up. Try and encourage any buyers not to pay via PayPal as pick up items have no buyer or seller protection. If someone does pay with PayPal, they could come and take your lamp away and then initiate a chargeback if they pay by credit card through PayPal. They will probably win. You then lose the lamp and the money.
Please come back and ask any other questions you need answering so that your first sale can be as smooth as possible. The last thing you want is to come out of all this with nothing.
Edit: To end the auction, go to the listing on your My Selling page and click the dropdown on the right. Then select end item. Select the option that there was an error in the listing. It will probably pop a warning up because you have a bidder, just ignore it. You will only be punished if you continue to end auctions with bids. You shouldn't be punished the first time.
If you are using the app, click on the item in your selling page, then select the end item button. The select there was an error in the listing.

A driftwood lamp nearly 2m tall should fetch more than $10 surely, everyone is after one of these as they are a rare item.
