Hi everyone,
I started selling face masks on eBay from the end of July and was getting good sales, but for some reason after two weeks there was suddenly no more orders. I would like to know what the reason for this would be? Would I have clicked on something incorrectly?
Thanks

I have level 3 surgical masks and N95. They are both designed to prevent, and prevent catching, infectious diseases. Like you, it depends on the circumstances as to when we wear which mask.
We had to go to Sydney 2 weeks ago for Mr Tippy to have a PET scan and follow up (all clear!). We took both masks. While we were inside the hotel, but outside our room, we had the surgical mask on. As soon as we were to leave the hotel, we had N95 on at all times, even in the hospital. Main reason being, where we were was declared a hot zone (lots of people infected from a restaurant around the corner).
Mr Tippy is unique in that he doesn't breathe through his nose and mouth. He breathes through a hole in his neck. So while he still needed to wear a face mask as airflow could send disease up his nose, we had to modify masks to cover his neck hole as well.
5 days after getting home, I started getting sniffles, a dry cough and low grade fever. I got tested and was negative. It turned out to be a mild head cold. Despite being absolutely **bleep** about masks and hand sanitising, I still managed to get a cold. Mr Tippy didn't. I probably caught it from someone at work.
I have enough masks to last around 8 months. People who have bought cloth masks will just keep wearing them until they fall apart, so don't need to buy extras now.
I will add, regardless of whether you wear cloth or disposable masks, when you are finished with them, cut the ear loops. Birds and fish are getting into all sorts of strife because of the ear loops.

You brought up an interesting point.
It is horses for courses I suppose when it comes to masks. I wear a reusable one on my walks because I go along a walkway behind my house. It passes through a green belt on a shared bike/walking track and some days I am lucky to pass one or two people. I figure the chances of infection there are low, although on fine days there are always more people out and about.
But... one thing I have been shocked to notice a couple of times is disposable masks just-disposed of! Lying there next to the path. How does that happen? Who on earth takes off a mask and just drops it on the ground?

Masks are not mandatory here in NSW, but they are in all public hospitals. Other areas they are just encouraged. Outside the hospital it is dreadful. People take them off and throw them on the ground. They can't even be bothered putting them in one of many bins.
Bunnings is no different. They are everywhere there too. Funny that you don't see many people wearing them, but there are still lots on the ground.
I guess people see it as no different to other litter. They are happy to throw a chip packet on the ground, why would they treat a mask any different?

I,m still selling a reasonable amount, but sales where slow over the long weekend. Nothing unusual about that. My sales usually drop off over a long weekend.
In direct answer to the post, sales tentative, down a bit, but still OK.
