I clicked on my "VIEW LISTINGS" link under my ID name and I got the couple of listings I managed to get up today... however, all along the right side there are similar (and cheaper) items from other sellers, mainly in Hong Kong.
Is that because I don't have a store? Is that because eBay wants me to start paying? Or does everybody get those?
Thanks in advance.

when you click View your items from this page all I see down the side are my
recently Viewed Items
when I view your items I see other sellers items listed at the bottom of the page, and YES that is how ebay runs, whether you have a store or not

Boo hoo
I see them on the side :_|
I thought it might be better for store owners but I guess it's just different people see different things depending on their settings.

I see exactly the same as Putney so I wouldn't mind guessing its eBay's way of showing you what your competition is selling for?
Mind you I would rather pay more and buy from Aus then worry about whether or not I have got an Asian Scammer with poor quality products.

Awww, thank you Freight... are you differentiating me from the Asian Scammers?
hehehe
I know what you mean. The way I see it, with the fees and postage we pay here in Oz, out only selling point is speed and good ol' aussie service. Otherwise, most Asians aren't scammers and quality isn't always poor :_|

True, I buy a lot from over seas but I make very sure of the feedback and ratings first. But even then I have been caught a few times but never from Australia.
I was however just stating a fact.... A lot of Australians feel that over seas sellers are out to rip them off or the products are inferior, this hasn't been my experience but it seems to be a consensus of opinion.
And with all the xenophobia being reported from the government atm and reported on the news, Aussies are a little conservative just now.

Feedback and ratings on my profile are almost zilch, as you can see. I'm hoping people will see past that, though, as everyone started from somewhere.

Yes everyone does however it is best to set blocks to stop scammers from different countries.... I would suggest blocking any one from bidding from Nigeria for a start, especially if you have anything of value to sell.
They like to target new sellers
