Once you open an unpaid item how long can you leave open

i open an unpaid dispute and i was going to close it tomorrow and the buyer  messaged that they need an extra 3 days to pay

how long can you leave it open for

If not manually closed, eBay will close it 36 days after the sale date (not the date the claim was opened), without crediting the FVF, so if opened on day 4, for the sake of ease I'd say it can remain open for 30 days, less the longer it was after the sale that the case was opened.
