Someone alerted me to the fact that someone was selling our items on facebook and their website for twice the price. I took a look and they were using our photos and stories without asking our permission (keeping the handmade bit but deleting connydeylen). And then I realized they were listing them as soon as we started an auction. They waited and as soon as one of their customers showed interest they placed a bid. This person claims to be a Physchic and her customer base is basically people who have recently lost a loved one. I am absolutely seething and have blocked them as bidders. But are there otherways to put this con artist out of action?

Yes, each to his or her own, however preying on vulnerable consumers by enticing them to purchase products that cannot deliver is never acceptable IMO.
Cut and paste from the ACCC website:
Miracle cures and magic potions http://registers.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/1047879#toc1
As a regulator the ACCC seeks to try to protect people—often susceptible or very vulnerable people—from their own gullibility or desperation.
The Australian Consumer Law, which the ACCC enforces, requires businesses to be accurate and truthful when they market their products and services.
They must not make false claims about a product’s quality, history, performance, benefits or origin.

Not that you want to hear this but that is business, buy and sell how would we all be if in it wasn't for the fact that shops buy at one price and on sell. Look at it like this be happy that its popular and you get what you want. Or is it the fact the other person is making money. This is our system, I purchase from overseas and resell, I also make my own stuff and sell. I also whiolesale. You can't have your cake and eat it to. Feel proud your items and someone else things there worth more - Maybe they are?
Emotions we eat you and good business sence will be lost. Happy Ebaying

I'm not going to go there.
My question / statement still stands.
This is my reply to John -
I don't see how you can stop anyone onselling you product!
You can and should stop any reseller using your pictures without permission, as for the rest, i'd just roll with it.
That's my whole argument or point..

There are numerous suggestions on this thread to how you can stop others, or at least make it much harder, to onsell your product through bidding and/or purchasing them on eBay
Didn't you read the entire thread

What the?
Forget ebay, things got sold before Ebay came along.
John and Conny can't block evereyone from buying there product on Ebay.
Yes i have read the thread, and know one can stop resellers, because short of taking the product off the market it's available for all to purchase.
Say i buy it or get someone to buy it on my behalf, who can or will stop me from reselling it?

Increasing price can act as a significant deterrent to onsellers.
Or trading in the places they trade in at a lower price.
Lots of ways, people do it all the time.
Best thing I did a few years ago was to increase prices of some brands in some markets I sell in that continue to be sought after by onsellers - I get the sales now, for lower quantity, but more $$$ overall

Hi Digital
To be honest most of your comments were very close to the mark especially about intellectual and artistic rights. We really appreciate your positive input. But we are realists and although we would like acknowledgement that they were handmade by Conny know that in the real world it doesn’t always work that way. If someone onsells our items for four times the price good luck to them (except the person (and possibly similar persons!) we have a problem with!) Conny has been making and selling various items for more than 20 years, 10 years on Ebay and we acknowledge once a buyer has bought something they can do pretty much what they like. Conny currently only has time to make a certain number of items which basically covers her 2 markets a month and Ebay. This is a lifestyle choice and we have scaled down the business. If someone wants to onsell them they can buy them on Ebay we just don’t wholesale anymore. If someone ones wants to buy in bulk (for less than the Ebay price) we are not interested just don’t have the time.
Comparing our current prices to the person we have a problem with is actually misleading. Her client base is different, they are prepared to pay more because of the situation they are in and because of what she tells them in her private conversations.
Mind you we will probably scale up our prices (as several people have suggested) so it becomes less lucrative for her. And if they don’t sell we may just only sell at markets from now on.
Cats pyjamas has actually moved this forum in the right direction.
Actually I want to send a private message to you about your ETSY comment. That is a different story and I don’t want this forum to spin off in another direction. Can you tell me how to do it because I’m not a forum expert! I Promise not to make “interesting comments” about other forum members not our style
