PO's forgetting to scan item as delivered.

Sold a $300 item to USA.

Sent registered paid for by buyer.

Buyer signs and receives item. All good.

Just hoping buyer doesn't check tracking now and get ideas.

Appears PO in L.A. has forgotten to scan when buyer picked up at PO so tracking only shows processed to local PO but not delivered.

If buyer wanted to they could open a case and I would lose even if I could after costly phone calls obtain the signature in L.A. Smiley Frustrated

We really do trust and rely on others. And it annoys me as I rarely let anyone down, in fact I don't think I ever have. (professionally or privately)

Does it reflect the same on both Aus Post tracking and USPS? I often find APs status when it reaches another country is erroneous and the correct status can be found on the other country's tracking site.

I think if it was left to eBay's automated dispute process you'd likely lose, but contacting them directly with the signature obtained should make it at least less likely.

Thanks, good point so just checked on USPS site.

"This product is not trackable".

During our negotiations the buyer seems like a good person so I don't expect it to turn pear-shaped.

But gee wizz, a signature can be very difficult to get from an O.S. postal service to provide proof and only because someone has potentially goofed off.

Makes me wonder if I should now pay the extra couple of dollars to get delivery notification as well.

Kopes, it may have changed since I used the Confirmation service but it took nearly 7 weeks for the signed card to get back to me in Sydney from Newcastle.  I hate to think how long it might have taken from overseas.

Don't waste your money on delivery confirmation. I once sent a fairly expensive item to the UK and never got the notification card back again. Perhaps it got lost in the mail.

PO's forgetting to scan item as delivered.

Thanks, customer would be paying for it anyway.

It may also deter any prospective opportunist once they are informed signature confirmation has been paid for.

Did you need the confirmation for a case ?

I sent a giant plush My Little Pony to the USA once and thought, hmm better get delivery confirmation as well so paid the extra...... Got no delivery confirmation.

Luckily the buyer was honest and didn't lodge any disputes etc.  I lodged a complaint with Aust Post requesting a refund on the confirmation extra paid.... Well a bonus for me, they refunded me the $3.50 (that was the price at the time) for the confirmation plus the $84 for postage as well!
