Paid extra for my item to be advertised

I have a listing to sell for $400.  I decided to pay $40 for Ebay to promote/advertise my listing.  How do I know it is being promoted or advertised?

it has 'sponsored listing' on it when you do a search:

did you click on the link above? Your item is #2 on first page of search results, with SPONSORED above it

I think I have to log out and do a search to see it on page 2 with sponsored.  Thank you so much

So you paid $40 for the sponsored link, and then you pay the Final value fee, then the PayPal fee, and post it free?
