----

well for now im going to try use Paymate after i make a new eBay account and rack up 10 feedback from sales since this ebay account is limmited due to my pp being.

and there suspicous gives them no right to hold on my money for 6 months after iv clearly proven myself to them.

does anyone recommend also lodging a complaint to ACCC aswell.

have you checked out the criteria for having listings with PayMate, ebay dont just allow anyone to offer Paymate, you have to qualify with a certain number of transactions already made with paypal / had the ID active for a certain period of time etc. it is not just a matter of putting ''I accept Paymate'' on your listing, you need to be Paymate verified first.

I make a point of banning people who demand paypal, or even ask for it.

Better ban me, message me if you want the full list of my eBay login IDs and I will gladly supply them to you so you can block them all.

When I sell I encourage PayPal.  For me, it gives my buyers confidence that if something does go wrong that they can make a claim.  I've never had a claim against me when selling.  I have many repeat buyers, some of whom offer to pay by bank deposit once they know they can trust me.  They trust me because I encourage PayPal when they first buy from me.

the best thing about paymate is when you get a buyer who demands paypal-you very quickly know who is a scammer who knows the system and is intent on scamming you through paypal.

If you offer Paymate then you do not need to offer PP.  I personally would not want to be buying from seller who does not offer PP, as I assume that they are very unlikely to be helpful if there is a problem with the transaction.

By the way, is there a search option to exclude items that do not offer PP?

No, but you can customise the view in search results so that listings offering PayPal have the blue 'P' icon displayed. (When you conduct a search, click 'Customise View' and move 'PayPal' into the 'Columns to display', under formatting).

Personally, I would use Paymate if I wanted to make a purchase and it was the only option, at least, I wouldn't automatically trust a seller less or not at all just because they've made an unpopular choice, just the same as I wouldn't trust or mistrust someone more just because they made a popular choice.

Thanks DG; guess if there was something I would want very badly and could not get it from somebody else, I too would probably use Paymate ๐Ÿ™‚   But only if the seller had 100% FB and lot of it.

You will probably have problems with Paymate if buyers try to pay any substantial sum, they have a habit of refusing transactions over $100, I have had an account since just after it's inception and even I had a purchase refused when I went over the hundred bucks.

It was not ebay but a very well established office supply company. Paymate didn't even have the good manners to tell me they had refused the payment!

I offered paymate at first as I heard it was quicker to get to the seller account than paypal but this proved to be false.

I don't particularly like either, I only offer paypal because I am forced to if I want to sell here.

The majority of my feedback is from when I used to have direct deposit only, so far I haven't had any negative feedback as I don't cheat people.

With direct deposit I receive my buyers payment faster, usually within two days whereas paypal takes between 3 to 5, paymate took 7.

If they pay from available funds or with an attached card, payment is instantaneous.

How long it takes for the money to get to your account is irrelevant. The buyer has paid and you have the money (in your Paypal account).
