Has anyone else had payments from selling an item put on hold, as i have been using Ebay for over 20+ years and have never had a payment put on hold, as the only thing i can find is that they can hold payment for upto 30 days which is not right, considering we have sold the item and it has been picked up, and ebay have taken there portion out but still no money. Also canot find any where to actually be able to contact a cust service person apart form a useless Virtual Assistant. Very peeved of customer

Better read the T&C's before listing again - they are what you agreed to.

Every single seller who has not sold in some time will have a 30 day hold on funds. eBay sees you as a 'new seller'
It does not matter how long the person has been using eBay
You agreed to the policy when you listed the item and ticked you had 'read and understood' box. so if you think it is 'not right' yo did not have to proceed with the listing
Your last feedback as a seller shows 'more than a year ago'
The holds are not new and are no secret
And yes, sellers do need to supply the item within their stated handling time
Contacting eBay is not going to get you special treatment
Have you indeed signed up to Managed Payments and been verified to sell?

Just to add to the other answers. Ebay's policy of being careful when an account that hasn't had any sales for a long time, is reasonable. Their precaution is to cover cases where an inactive account has been hacked and is an added protection for the buyer.
If ebay are holding funds that means the buyer has paid and the goods must be posted. The hold on payment to the seller is only until they have established, or reestablished that they are legit.

Itโs so stupid. That is happening to me right now. Iโve sold for years and only had payments on hold for small periods of time in the beginning. I just sold an item at auction that sold for over a thousand dollars and they put my funds in hold for a full month. Even when provided tracking and delivery confirmation via signature confirmation and positive feedback from buyer, they say this is an โextended holdโ due to the price of the item. Iโve sold many items of similar price and this is the first time this happens. I have several other items that will sell for similar prices and I will simply not list them on eBay. eBay definitely took their cut right away, which at this point is almost 12% of the sale price. Customer service refused to help. Definitely taking my business elsewhere like everyone else is doing. It is unsustainable to be an eBay seller at this point. You pay all the fees, do everything correctly and all you get is this kind of bull.

You will find there are rules everywhere
You are on the member forum for eBay Australia
No need to tell other members you are leaving

The best policy Ebay put in place, protects the buyer. Thanks Ebay

This has just happened to me! I have been a seller for 23 years, since 2002. I cannot find anyone to talk to at Ebay apart from some AI response. I use the buyers payment to pay for the postage. I am feeling extremely frustrated!!!

Frustrate away.
You have one feedback for selling in the last year. You are considered an intermittent seller by eBay and your payment will be on hold for 30 days as a result.
All clearly laid out in eBay's T&Cs when you listed. Assuming you bothered to sign up to Managed Payments.

I am not sure why you believe the policy that applies to every other new seller/infrequent seller/sellers who have not sold in a long time (which you agreed to when you listed) would not really apply to you?
Be frustrated at yourself
How long ago you joined ebay does not come into it
