Hi, I have just sold an item and Buyer has emailed to say they have a problem with paypal and want to pay by bank transfer or money order. I don't want to hand out bank details so is a money order safe. Please understand I have no experience in selling on ebay so would appreciate your advice with the pros and cons of this sale.
I would have prefered paypal.
Thank you in advance
Chris

Bank deposit is the safest of all payment methods for a seller. There can be no disputes opened at all and no chance of a bank chargeback down the track.
Just give the buyer your details...they can not do anything except deposit the money.

Some buyers prefer to pay by bank deposit and it helps if you have your bank details available in checkout. If you are concerned about giving out your personal bank account info you could open a separate account just for eBay deposits.

Hi there,
Nothing wrong with accepting either a money order or bank deposit but paypal is a lot quicker and safer too.You also get your funds as soon as the buyer deposits funds into your paypal account.Hope this helps
