Paypal money on hold because ebay isnt adding tracking numbers to paypal

I have just got off the phone from Paypal because they have on hold over $2000.00 worth of funds.

Their answer was because I didnt add my tracking numbers to the paypal transactions.

When i asked why was ebay not integrating the tracking numbers on ebay through to paypal she said, they did not do that anymore and i would need to go through each transaction on paypal and add tracking numbers.

There goes the fast integration between aus post and ebay tracking numbers, I now need to go through each sale and copy the tracking number over to paypal so they can release the funds.

Has anyone else had this problem?

this is going to calculate to so much more time to have to do this

also I dont get that I should dispatch a product until the funds have been cleared in my account...normal trading terms...not happy jan

If you go to the transaction in Paypal and click on it to expand, at the bottom it offers you an option to print a packing slip, and after you've done that (or not - you can just click on "Done"), you are then shown a page that has an option near the bottom to add tracking info. Click on that and you add status (packed, shipped or whatever), tracking number and carrier/type eg Aust Post Platinum Express etc.

In the old days, by which I mean yesterday, the info was immediately applied to the eBay listing as well, and an email sent to the buyer with the info.

As I said, that was yesterday and today the info didn't go across to eBay, so I have been adding it to both (bit of a pain). I don't know if this is a glitch or a new arrangement to to with the separation of Paypal and eBay. The hold on Paypal funds I can't comment on because I always upload the tracking info as soon as I have it.

This got anything to do with the 21 day seller hold that you may have been subject to for some reason?? Lack of tracking meaning they wont releae the funds?

Yes, I agree! Should have been a notification; although it could have been inside the details that sometimes come up at the top of your eBay page "eBay and PayPal have seperated" ....

I will post back in about a month when I get my next sale and let you know if its the same for me, Lol

I have had a few sales within the hour, still with nothing on hold so I assume it's only the OP and selected seller that are affected.

As said by lane earlier, it might not be related to tracking. I've had a couple of sales this evening and no hold.

yep Dave that's what I said up there earlier, I was just confirming that is was not a new policy as some were suggesting.

I wasn't actually suggesting it was a new policy - only stating that IF it was, advice BEFORE not after should have been given.

After a little bit of hassle with supposed 'Internal Server Error' and phone call to PP, I was easily able to withdraw money received.

What I can't understand about OP with his/her FB score, and only 1 neg, is why PP would be playing this game re tracking no's.  

Like you, HBH, I never upload tracking no's.  and it has never been an issue.  And neither should it.  PP are only the money handler -money received from buyers and paid into sellers accounts. Anything else has nothing to do with PP, unless a buyer instigates a claim.  Then I can understand/accept that info such as tracking numbers does become PP's business in order to sort out who's right and who's wrong.  

If I was in OP's position, I would be telling PP the matter would be going to FOS unless they immediately released the funds they are holding.

Agree, absolutely.  Two points, sorry

A couple of months ago when I started a new ID, PP saw fit to withold my funds, I rang, explained I've had an account for over 5 years, but was not prepared to link the accounts as they suggested.  They could see my history (never once had a problem of any kind), so I warned them I would take the matter further and immediately filed a report with FOS.  Needless to say, after about 14 days the hold was lifted and has not been applied since.

BUT

I just popped in to check the latest on this thread as I have just tried to withdraw funds from my papyal account (on this ID) and can't  - getting the Internal Server message and have tried twice . . . . .  ho hum . . . . . sigh . . .  really !  Guess I'll have to ring them . . . . .

PP told me to clear cache/cookies, log out, log back in.  Once I did that I was able to withdraw my funds.
