Paypal to bank acount technical glitch on 15/04/12

I have been waiting for payment of funds to my bank account transferred on 15th April. It is still not showing. I phoned Paypal on Friday and they said ti would appear on Saturday for sure. It is now Sunday and still no funds.

I rang Paypal and have been informed that there is a delay in posting the funds for transfers mae on 15th April and that their technical team is currently investigating the problem. They could not say that once the funds are 'found' how long it would be before the funds get to the bank! I queried whether it would be another 5 'working days' but they could not answer.

The respondent to my questions said that all ebay members had been notified but I said I definitely had not and that on Friday I had phoned and had not been told at that time. I was then told that they had informed customers that  'scheduled maintenance' on the Paypal 'blog' was their way of communicating with their customers - I did not even know there was a Paypal blog.......anyone else had that problem?? I rang ebay as I am concerned with the fact that feedback may be affected being as I usually do not post out until I receive funds into my bank - if we contact ebay they will take this into account on feedback but what about the star system and delays?

Disappointed in the lack of communications......

Thank you all for your response. I have insisted on an email from Paypal to state the cause for the delay and this is what they wrote (cut and paste):

Dear xxxt,

This is in regards to the following transfer you made from your PayPal account to your bank account:

Transaction ID:xxxxx

Amount: $79.49 AUD

Date: 15 April 2012

We apologize for the inconvenience as there is a delay in posting the funds for transfers made on 15 April 2012.

Our technical team is currently investigating this; I will notify you through email for any updates on when the funds are expected to post to your bank account.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

So it is a technical fault and they cannot say when it will be rectified - and also no email or funds as of today, Monday 24th April.

I have notified the Financial Ombudsman's Dept as suggested, also the Office of Fair Trading (but they have not had any problems flagged re this issue, also ACCC who have noted the problem. Guess all I can do is now wait.

Re sending goods out before my Paypal monies being transferred to the bank - my local PO does not accept Paypal for postal satchels and I am on an age pension so no funds left to spend on postage. However I had sent all the pending parcels paid for out last week as I am aware of feedback/star system........unfortunately it leaves me with nil!

All the same it is great to have a discussion and get info so thank you all for your assistance : )

so, they are finally admitting it.

most Aussie sellers affected, small like myself through to medium (where lack of funds will hurt the most) and big business too. All stemming from the 15th onwards and no word as to when sellers will receive their $.

I am in the same boat... I transfered money from Paypal on the 15th and still haven't recieved it either.

I rang Paypal on Friday and was told that I would have the money on the Saturday...

Still no money...

Rang them on Monday, and was told about the 'glitch' and same answer that they didn't know when it was going to be sorted or when I would get my money!!

I NEVER recieved any email or contact from Paypal regarding their problems... I had to chase them. It's just not good enough! And considering that we MUST offer Paypal on our listings, then ebay should also have made some anouncement about this issue!!

Same hear.2 selling accounts and 2 withdrawls on the 15th and 16th disappeared.Paypal contacted there aware of the problem but have no idea when it will be fixed , no previous contact from them about the problem.

Having just got off the phone to Pay Pal it seems that they are no where near resolving this issue.

Apparently the issue has not been resolved and the person I spoke with admitted that there was no indication when it might be and they would NOT be advising me accordly.

Apparently transactions made after the 17th are proceeding as normal.

I used to transfer once a month had a problem so made it once a week.

From this week will now transfer daily. A hassle I know but am beginning to wonder if PayPal are actually just holding on to that days transfers? They do not seem to be overly concerned and one can not but help and wonder why.

There really seems little that one can do.

I'm in the same boat as everyone else - found this thread on the Whirlpool forums.

I withdrew almost $940 on 15th April to Commonwealth and the funds still have not cleared. On the Friday I rang them and was advised everything was fine and I should expect the funds 'very shortly'

On the Monday there was magically a 'technical glitch' that means PayPal is making interest off our funds while we have no access to it - there is no timeframe to resolve and they won't update us by contacting their affected customers either.

No communication from PayPal or any notification about it, seems they really don't care about people affected. It's desperately disappointing how badly they handle customer problems. Of course the slower they fix this, the more money they make from our money.

Just wondering if ayone is having dramas with paypments made via paypal,  I have had about 6 people pay with paypal around the same time,  and all of these payments are still pending but payments made in the last few days are fine.

I have notification from Paypal that my payment on the 16/4 has finally cleared today but no money has been taken out of my bank account?

Payments seem to be arriving today, i have mine and there are other reports on the powerseller board of people getting theres too.

Commonwealth bank seems to be the slowest for some reason.

What do you think ASIC is going to do...paypal is an American company so ASIC has no jurisdiction at all.

Stop wasting the time of people who can not do anything...concentrate your efforts on the authorities who can do something.
