A couple of questions that seem to allude the staff at various PO's, it seems everyone is just confused.
1. You can still use your Registered Labels on parcels until they are used up/the end of the year??
2. Are SOD signature on delivery labels going to be available in bulk cheaper than the $2.95?
-they are not listed for a bulk price in the new AP booklet
-my local PO had just a few labels for their own use
Conculsion: If I'm going to have to pay $2.95 for SOD it seems a cheaper option to keep using my Reg'd labels for parcels until they really do say I can't!!
I've read in the new AP booklet that parcel post now comes with $50 compensation for loss or damage payable at AP's discretion. Is that likely to be paid just like insurance on a registered item? I paid $1.50 extra for $100 insurance yesterday but maybe I needn't have...??

I think the $50 compo thing has been there for a while but just not widely advertised.
And it is purely DISCRETIONARY (at AP's discretion) plus you would need to have some kind of proof of posting eg post office receipt or number sticker peeled from the prepaid satchels etc. Apparently ALL the new satchels have these numbers...
I don't think you can take the $50 compo for granted, I guess you have a good chance if you have proof of posting but if it is only discretionary there is some risk to it.
If you need cover for more than that (I used an example of $75 with my post office yesterday) you would have to purchase the SOD for $2.95 PLUS the extra cover for $1.50 so $4.45 fee on top of basic postage cost (SOD alone WON'T give you cover)

My PO said I could use the prepaid Registered Labels as long as I had them, I hope so as I purchased a new box last week.

I was hoping to finish my box too, but as soon as you try to to revise anything on your listings at the moment (eg postage increases), the changes won't go through unless you remove the registered post option on your listing!
