Postage Display - confused

Hi everyone,

I'm new to ebay and am confused about the postage when setting up my listing.

I am trying to sell something that I will pack myself in a box <2K.

In the listing screen it said to select custom postage, I entered my box size etc. and it said that it would require calculated postage between $10 and $20 depending on the location of the purchaser. When I preview the listing, it shows the postage as "calculated" but when I post the listing, it just shows the lowest end of the range which could make the purchaser thing it's only $10 when they are in outback Western Australia and it will actually cost me $20.

Any ideas why this occurs. I know I can nominate a fixed postage price, but don't know whether to pick something in the middle and risk making a loss.  Why does it default to the lowest number in the price range instead of just saying "Caclculated" or something?

try this, go to the postage and payments tab and change the postcode to 3500.  This is my postcode, and the postage on the Jewellery Box is showing for me as $14.75.  I changed my postcode to 2000 and it showed a much lower postage.

The postage that will show will be the postage that applies for the eBayer that looks at your listing.

I'm not 100% sure but when you list your item you will see Flat Rate or Calulated Rate Select Calculated Rate them enter the item weight and the sizes of the package. Remember when you weigh the item add another 100 grams at least for the weight of the packaging. You then can select the type of delivery method Standard With Tracking, Standard with Sign On delivery and so on.. Hope this helps.
