my guess is the seller doesn't know how to list properly and was kind of experimenting iykwim
you know how heaps of people haven't been able to find that link called options or something?
dunno - maybe they worked it out as they went along
but I sure don't want to have to be manning that inbox in the morning LOL - I'm betting a few people may not be able to pick up and are expecting postage!

this is how it is with pickups now, it's not the first time this has been seen with pickups showing as free postage. Which is why ebay should change it. Go and have a look in the furniture section it is the same. seach tables and have a look down the list. some show pickup: free others show just free postage.

but I think this is because people are ticking the free postage box......and for pick ups they're not supposed to.
Digi will know she was explaining something about it somewhere.

If it shows as Free Postage in the search results, but Local Pick-Up offered when you click on the listing, it means the seller has done this:
As you can see, postage is actually selected, but not a service and no prices entered into the field. As soon as the box for "Buyers can pick up...." is ticked, eBay will let you submit the listing without selecting a postage service and price. Which is dumb.
If a listing is displaying in search results as Pick-up only: Free. it means the seller has done this:
Now you can see that there are no postage options in the section at all.
All eBay need to do to fix this is make the "No Postage..." option selectable in teh dropdown menu by default, instead of hiding it in the Add/Remove options.
