Power Seller Status

I have just come off the "Answer Centre" and perhaps will get a bit more clarity here.

I tried and actually listed an item for sale and received a listing charge even though I had 18 free listings still left for April.

I have not received any notifications from Ebay regarding my "status" but after getting no satisfactory answers from the Answer Centre, I sent them an email asking why I was being charged.

They have now informed me by email that I am a BRONZE Power seller yet my Ebay page still shows that I have 18 free listings available.

When do they let you know of any changes in your situation?

And how do you become a Power Seller when I have sold a couple of hundred items for the whole time I have been on Ebay.  And since the free listings started I have only sold about a hundred or so items.  Ebay says I have sold $3000.00 between April last year to April this year.  Only because I sold a couple of items that had a good $ return.

So if you sold 1 item for over $3000.00 you automatically become a BRONZE Power Seller???

Just ranting I am.

Wonder when my free listings shown will be scrapped?

To qualify as a Power Seller, it takes at least 100 transactions and US$3000 worth of sales, so one $3000 sale won't make you a PS.

I don't know why you would be charged for listings if it shows you still have a certain number remaining, but you should be able to check your status on your seller dashboard. It will tell you there whether you have reached PS level, and if so access to free listings will be cancelled... Until 1st May, anyway.

After that, anyone without a store will have 40 free listings per month, regardless of PS status.

Yes, sort of.

Powerseller is 100 items and $3000 in sales in a rolling 12 month period. So if you sold one item for $3000 you wouldn't be a powerseller. Unless you sold another 99 items for any amount in the next 12 months.

As of May 1, all non-store sellers will get 40 free listings, regardless of powerseller level.

So on 1 May you will get 40 free listings for the calendar month. Hang in there, it's only 11 days.

The first part of my post above is incorrect  :8}- that damn typeover function, it will not work if you don't preview first X-(

Yes, once you sell more than 100 items, to a total value of $3000 in 12 months etc you become a power seller.

The evaluations are done around the 20th of each month so you will probably receive notification from ebay in the next day or two.

The above is your thread from the Answer Centre-the people who answered you are members like you & you didn't state until post 8,almost 4 hours after your initial question, that you had achieved Bronze Power Selller status.

So you should probably apologise for your following statements don't you think ?

I have not received any notifications from Ebay regarding my "status" but after getting no satisfactory answers from the Answer Centre, I sent them an email asking why I was being charged.
