I recently purchased an item from china, from the other site, and the item was sent through Australia Post as an eParcel.
They sent the wrong item and they wanted me to send back, the cost was AUD19.25 (with tracking). They asked if I could use a cheaper service and they said it cost them under USD10.00 (AUD11.90) to originally post.
We ended up working something out but what is with the price difference, it was an eParcel I guess.

Yup. My daughter, who used to work with an AP call centre, has confirmed that AP subsidises international mail coming into Aus, but the agreement is not reciprocal.
That's why there's so much Asian rubbish flooding our markets, all with free postage. And anything that we send OS, we have to pay thru the nose.
Ultimately, the cost has to be reimbursed by someone...guess who?
