Hi E1, We have been using auspost.com.au for years and our eBay sales have increased and we are wanting to know if it is possible to have our eBay listings reflect the exact postage charge instead of us using a flat price for all postcodes
.
We have tried the option for standard postage varied by location however when we type a postcode far away say in WA 6000 into the postcode field of the item it shows up as costing $50.05 to send a single motorcycle helmet from here in Qld to WA.
As we have a business account with AP we do not pay $50 to send a new, in the box helmet. We checked the AP website using our measurements and also the weight and postcodes and sure enough, it is exactly $50.05.
With our business account with AP we only pay around $30-35.
Would Click and Send solve this issue for us or do we need to stay with AP and work out the exact postage price to display, somehow.
Some people are probably reading this and thinking "just charge what the calculator charges and keep the change", lol, as much as I would like to, its just not good business sense.

Could you list the postage as 'freight' and that way the buyer has to wait for an invoice before they pay? That way you could add the required postage cost for their area in the invoice. I'm not sure how you would set it up for freight as I've never done it, but there are plenty of people here who should know.

Hi,
I recommend that you look at using Postage Rate Tables for your bulky listings (listings that you can do not do flat rate for).
http://frame.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ShippingRateTable
More info here: http://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/news/rate-tables
You can doing shipping rates per item or based on weight or as a surcharge.
Weight option maybe best for you and enter in your discounted AU rates there.

If the OP can work out how to list with the Freight option they can also put in that the buyer should ask for the costs to their postcode.
This solves the problem of the buyer not knowing the costs until they receive the invoice.
