Refund of FVFees

Good Day

Just a bit of advice please.

Buyer states in email that item is NAD as I had said that the item (faucet) was in excellent condition and he states that the item is not in excellent condition as has dents in it and so forth.  Do not know what "so forth" means and the photos show no dents in the item.  A number of photos was shown with the Zoom feature available for close inspection.  He most likely expected a tap in brand new condition (used for over 3 years). However I emailed him back and stated for him to return item and I would refund him.

I would like to know if I am entitled to get a refund of my FVF from Ebay and how do I go about doing this.

Also can he leave me neg. feedback even it I refund in full.

Thanks and please be gentle with me ....... I am quite stressed about this whole thing - hardly slept last night.:O

If you receive negative feedback phone ebay and ask for it to be removed. Explain the situation and if there are emails from the buyer that are relevant send them to ebay. You can wait and see if he opens a Paypal dispute or if you think there's nothing wrong with the tap you can refuse to refund. To arrange to receive your FVF back send a Mutual Cancellation but he can decline it.If he is unreasonable he will leave negative feedback regardless of what you do.

Is it possible it was damaged in transit?

Don't blame me. I didn't vote him in ...

Hopefully not.  I am very careful when it comes to packaging and I try my best to pack items well.

I just wonder, if it was, since you know it was in good condition when it left you.

If it were me, I would request photographic evidence (including your original packaging if possible) before deciding how to approach. You're well within your rights to request that.

Definitely follow dotcoms advice. Ask for photo's and if the dents are clearly visible I would offer to pay the cost of returning (if indeed you want it back). Nothing annoys a buyer more than having to pay return post if an item is faulty.

eBay will not remove a negative simply because you refunded as the purpose of feedback is to allow the buyer to give an opinion on how the transaction was for them

Thanks for the advice.  Will send email to buyer and ask for photos of the dents and so forth as he put it and also prepare myself for a neg.

how can you loose a nights sleep over a twenty dollar tap?  surely just ask them to return and you'll refund, and relist.

Sheesh putney ..... some others are different than you.

When you are new to selling and are not sure of how to deal with buyers such as the one the OP has and just want to do the right thing, over and above what is actually expected, it can be very stressful.

Negatives, returns, difficult buyers etc etc we don't all start out on ebay knowing everything and it can be daunting to say the least.   A negative when you are new to selling can be very demolishing and plummet your rating to very low levels.
