Hi guys,
I have just tried to use eBay shopping cart but I cannot see any Request total function in it.
Have I missed it or it is just not availbale in a cart?
I just deleted all cart content, then used buy it now and requested total from the seller.
P.S.
I could see ebay saying before shopping cart payment about how much I saved on postage but it does not make sence at all.
I have purchased from the same seller before and combined postage cost is about $25 while ebay is happy for me to pay $61 for postage because they have removed this functionality.

I am currently bidding on a number of auctions from the same seller who I have been dealing with for some years. Now when I win an auction the item appears in my cart and they add up in the cart until I pay.
It was while making one of these payments that I discovered items in the cart that have nothing to do with me.

Thank you guys. I just used BIN for each item and got postage combined to $29.
Ebay shopping cart is a joke that in my case could cost me extra $32 in combined postage.
I do not think it is sellers fault as with any shopping cart you can always place an order without paying and then ask a store owner to check postage. eBay does not allow it and asks buyers to pay straight away. No wonder why they do it since they have started charging their fees on postage cost.

We had been hoping that introduction of the cart would cut down on the number of buyers who buy multiple items and pay for each one individually as they go, never waiting for us to send a combined invoice.
But it has made ZIP difference to that. We are rarely buyers so have never used it in anger ourselves.
So like you it gets a big FAIL from us as well.

Request a total is missing I purchased from one sell I often use and twice in the last few days and there is NO request a total,
straight to the paypal payment. Thanks to my seller I contact then via the message area and they refunded the shipping discount. And where do I complaint to Ebay to solve this issue, or are they now charging fees on postage and dont want that feature??

I've only used it once when I bought multiple items off a US seller that uses the Global Shipping Program. It's the only way to get a combine postage amount with them because they don't have a 'send invoice' option. The GSP doesn't allow for combined postage. That said, the seller has to agree to you doing that because it means they have to pack and post the items themselves.

this is still an issue... FAIL ebay... FAAAAAAIIIIILLLLLL
You drag up a three and a half year old thread for that,(if it's stil an issue start a new thread).

I know this is an old thread but it is still an issue. I experimented a couple of days ago and when you use either the cart or BIN for more than one item you get taken straight to checkout and it's exactly the same for both ways of buying. There's nowhere to request a total, you just have to select your payment method and then confirm and pay. When I say "for more than one item" I mean multiples of the same item in the case of BIN as you have to buy each item and pay straight away.
I've had a few messages from buyers asking me to send them invoices but they haven't bought anything. There's a link for "send message to seller" in checkout and the buyers may be using that, but I didn't experiment with that to see what happened. I spent most of today editing my listings to tell people to buy multiple items using the cart rather than BIN, and I haven't finished editing them yet. No doubt I'll soon have to edit them again for the next round of changes.

Hi all, having similar issues with buyers wanting to combine postage but can not find a Request Total button, it used to be easy, what happened eBay? My thoughts are that eBay has made it tough to combine postage so buyers buy and pay postage on multiple items, ebay gets a higher % of the total spend and then it is up to the seller to refund. Very annoying.
