Returning customers

In my dream e-Bay interface, returning customers would show up in a different colour and there would be something for me to click on which would list all the items that each customer had purchased from me and the dates.

I treasure my returning customers but my old brain doesn't always recall whether I have had dealings with an e-Bayer before.

What do others think?

Easy. If they have left feedback for you click on your feedback then click on Feedback forum then click on Reply to Feedback Received on the right of the next page and then enter the buyers ID in the space to the right of find feedback and anything they have purchased from you will show there IF they left FB for you.

Or if you left FB for them pick the Follow up to Feedback Left For Others option instead.

I agree, some kind of icon or highlight would be a useful feature for any sellers who add a gift or offer discounts to repeat buyers.

I'd like something on My eBay that indicates a repeat customer, too. Sometimes I recognise IDs or addresses when I go to package an item, but I have missed a couple and I do like to include something extra for repeat buyers. Another way to check is, if you keep all your payment notification emails, put their name in a search of your emails - any past payments will show up (I only accept PayPal and bank deposit, and emails aren't being sent anymore for bank deposit, so it will only work if you have a payment notification).

The only sure-fire way to guarantee you pick up on it is to create a database or spreadsheet of all your customers, which isn't very practical if you have a lot of transactions.

It would be great to have some easy system to pick this up, its nice to thank them for coming back!
I file all the payment emails I get in folders in my personal email account. Its quick to do a search by name, username or email address, etc but it depends on me having a feeling that the buyer have bought from me before....
