I thought return for change of mind, was up to the seller as to grant or not, but had 2 of these lately and Paypal freezes funds, there is no option but to accept, as to refuse may see buyer with the item plus refund of payment. So buyers can return items for any reason now not just item not as described !!!!!

This is interesting. The Paypal returns service policy says returns are subject to the seller's policy, too
"e.g. the seller's deadline for returns has passed"
and remember that consumer law as presented above (by eBay) does not cover change of mind. So, it looks like, if the seller has a limited change of mind policy...Paypal couldn't force it? Maybe.

@amber-eyed-girl wrote:Newdeals says Paypal here is doing it on change of mind, too now. So yes looks like you are stuck with it. I have seen the return shipping up to 45$ deal, but it was for not as described when I saw it a while ago. Normally if there was an issue for not as described the buyer had to pay the return shipping. That's the changes I knew about.
I think basically this is paypal backdooring in change of mind, I was under the impression change of mind was unexceptable. When they offered it to me a few days a go the buyer in me went 'oh that is nice' but the seller part nearly had to be rushed to hospital just another thing to make selling harder.
Everything really is wieghted towrds the seller.

Awesome, stand by for lots of returns once every one knows about it, might as well be running a libary.

Our posts crossed. Read mine above. Maybe it's not black and white if you have a defined returns policy for change of mind.
That was from https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/returns/generalconditions
and above I put a shot from what consumer guarantees doesn't cover, so it seems to mean, if a seller has a defined policy, it could be argued with Paypal that change of mind isn't accepted.
If that all makes sense, it is worth talking to Paypal once establishing a clear, on the listing policy regarding change of mind.

I had a look at the first listing in your store, and it shows that returns are accepted.
The return policy on eBay is basically for what you offer in addition to basic consumer guarantees, so eBay policy is, if you accept returns, that you are obliged to accept returns for any reason, so includes change of mind.
If you change your return policy to 'no returns', you will have the option to deny change of mind return requests, while all the standard policies still apply for not as described requests.

No, buyers will still be able to send requests for change of mind, but when they do they will see an alert on the page that you don't have to accept, and then when it comes through to you, there should be an option to accept or decline.

So should we change it to Returns not accepted ? i thought that was a no no. And if so where do you change that setting ?
Cheers

It really is not clear it would be worth ringing paypal and asking what they are up to you never know they may even foot the whole bill.
I read what Digi wrote about returns by someone the other day and removed my return policy from my listings but I am debating if to put it back at the end of the day I would rather get a return for change of mind then item not as described both you end up with losing the postage both ways but one you also get a defect. At the moment we can only pray for good honest buyers. I just wish ebay/paypal would just stay out of it and give us the opportunity to deal with problems 99% can be solved easily and for the 1% sure let them get involved
