SELLER- describes place of ITEM as Australia when actually the goods have to come from CHINA

Item number

163179173952

I have recently purchased 2 of the above item on the belief that the items were already in Australia, so the presumption is that you will get the items quickly.  Instead, I find now after doing detailed research that the items are in CHINA, and need to be imported, hence taking 4+ weeks instead of the normal 7 days approx.

This is deceptive for the consumer and very misleading which is not fair and imposes an uncontrolled delay in receiving the articles.

I will definitely give this vendor a 0 score in his/her feedback when it comes to completing the transaction.

Cannot eBay do something about this type of misleading information to consumers????????????

UBI is a logistics company that brings bulk parcels from China to Australia very quickly and then distributes them from their base in Botany (I think).

They usually go as an Australia Post eParcel.

I have had several parcels from China take 6 days to get here and be cleared by Customs and another 6 days to be delivered to me in suburban Sydney.  That is quite acceptable to me.

Thanks for the information. Your explanation makes sense to me, and understandable - 2 weeks is just fine in my book also.
I checked the Australia Post system yesterday and it's not scanned as yet.

One other point about the item in question taking so long.  Firstly, yes it is drop shipped by a consolidater.  Secondly, anything using gas or powered by an inflammable fuel is considered a prohibited item and cannot be sent by Air.  It has to be shipped by sea.

Chinese Customs have really clamped down on this, especially now all outgoing air parcels are X-rayed and any seller trying to slip them through, cops the rath.

Even smoke detectors with a radium particle cannot fly and smoke detectors which don't use radium, photo electric style are lumped the same, because they both show up same shape in the X-ray.

Hi there,

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.  Security is paramount in this day and age, and the fact that the items are gas ignited (even though not filled with gas for shipping) would still show as potentially a hazard -  did not even register as potentially explosive in my mind.  Thank you!

Thanks for your time and trouble to explain these things - I really appreciate it!

cheers
