This is my first ebay sale and customer keeps saying they are having problems with paypal and want my email address or bpay details. How do I handle this?

They can not pay by bpay for ebay items.

Tell them to get their PP account fixed or to pay to your bank account and send them your bank details

Account name, BSB number and ACC number and bank name.

Actually, you can pay for an eBay purchase using BPay if the seller is set up to accept it.

It came up for me recently when I realized that the seller whom I had just purchased from only accepted PayMate, which I did not know how to use and I did not want to pay by bank deposit.

Their response:

in regards to this item that u have purchased, if you are just looking to pay through credit card, you are welcome to use my suppliers BPAY details (safer anyway because you only give your bank your details - who already has them!), the details are:
BPAY Payment Details
Biller Code: xxxx
Cust Ref. #: xxxxx
Amount: AU$ 28.90

Rang eBay, they said I could pay any way I felt comfortable in doing so, and emphasized that as the seller had offered an approved safe payment method (Paymate) that they were in the right, although charging me a fee, as they wanted to do to use PayPal, was prohibited.

I rang PayPal, they confirmed that a BPay payment was treated the same as bank deposit and not covered by their protection.

However, the fact remains that you can pay by BPay if you don't mind voiding your buyer protection through PayPal.

It's a long time since I did a purchase, but when U click to pay to pay thru Paypal, is not your email address that U are using with Paypal shown on that page?

Please be wary of giving out your email address & tell the buyer to use bank deposit.

How is your buyers feedback for buying?

Thank you patch. for confirming this ๐Ÿ™‚

I have been buying and selling on ebay for 8 years and have made hundreds of purchases and NEVER have I seen bpay as a payment option.

And as said the payment was NOT going to the seller but a 3rd party that was stated as the suppliers bpay details,  so dropshipping as well does not make for a happy transaction if anything should go wrong.

How could using Bpay be any more risky than bank deposit?

No, you said that an eBay purchase could not be paid for via BPay.

Here are your exact words "They can not pay by bpay for ebay items."

However the facts are that you can.
