Seller blocks you after you have been bidding in an item

Hi,does it seem odd or is it just me that a seller has blocked you from biddiing on an item after you have already been placing bids?I have already purchased from this seller(an the item is supposedly in the mail on its way). The seller has also blocked me from messaging them, this seller has only recently joined ebay and the purchase i made was there first,as they have know feedback.(and as i havent received item yet, which is due this week)i havent left any feedback at all.Thanks.

Aside from the 2 gold ingots he sold, it looks like another 3 ingots were withdrawn from sale before he got the chance to rip off 3 more buyers. What I'd like to know is with such a blatant case of fraud, why didn't eBay remove him from the site altogether? Selling counterfeit gold bullion is an extremely serious criminal offence and I'd have been involving the police had it been me, refund or not.

ebay need proof, otherwise they can find themselves in a defamation case if a seller choses to pursue it.

That's what makes it easy for us guys to look at listings and presume it's not Kosher and in 95% of the cases it probably isn't, but ebay takes the fall if they get it wrong.

Rather than concerned about revenue as many posters seem to think the reason for not de-registering accounts, I think caution is the prmary reason. Afterall I don't think ebay would play with the sites reputation for a few dollars here n there.

Not directed at you cq, just adding another perspective to the discussion.

It's OK, Kopes, I actually agree with you, apart from one specific comment which had me in stitches...

To wit: "Afterall I don't think ebay would play with the sites reputation for a few dollars here n there."

That's just about the funniest thing I've ever seen, 'cos eBay have done nothing but that ever since I've been a member! Smiley LOL
