Seller using my photos and description

Peeved..... I sold an item last week successfully, no hassles. Have just noticed the buyer has resisted the said item at a higher price using my photos and description! Cheek of it! I have sent her a polite message..... Can't believe what some people will do to earn $2.

Do you have more of the same to sell? I don't mind a buyer using my photos and description as long as it is a one off, in fact if they contact me to say it doesn't fit or some other reason for not wanting it I offer them the use of my pics etc so they can recoup their losses that way rather than having to return it at their expense.  They should of course have asked first and if they don't remove the pic and description if that is what yiu requested you can report them to ebay, you will have to give both your original item number and the one in breach.

I have done this myself when the item for whatever reason has not been needed. I doubt that they are doing it for $2.

Also there is an option where we can click sell this item so we can easily list the item we bought for sale.

I wouldn't worry about it to much better this than a non paying bidder

That pre-loads certain information on to the listing form (title, condition etc), but it does not copy over photos or description, because those are protected by copyright and it is an infringement of copyright to use someone else's images or description without permission. (Some of my images took a couple of hours from taking the photo to being uploaded to the listing - I don't spend that amount of time on them so someone else can profit from my efforts without permission or even accreditation, so personally, I'd be pretty peeved if I discovered someone had stolen them, whether their price was lower or higher than mine).

Had someone do this to me once. Not only used my photos and layout, but didnt even bother to download my photos, they just linked to my photos on Photobucket. As I was'nt currently selling the item, I decided to have some fun. I replaced the photos on Photobucket with some different ones including the infamous kettle reflection photo.

I totally agree digi, I have had this happen to me. I couldnt really do anything as they hadnt left fb, so I kinda felt held to ransom.

It might not look like it, but I agonise over my pics & descriptions, takes me ages.

Its annoying and plain rude to have someone just copy the whole lot and think its ok.

I have no isse with them selling the item for whatever reason but at least be original about it!

Thanks dags for the laugh, that is just so funny! How long did it take them to realise that was not the photo they had stolen.

I would also be fed up if someone used my photos, it just takes a lot of time and effort to setup, make sure the lightings right, upload, check, have to do again as too much shadow..............my the winter nights fly by in our house Smiley Happy

Fortuntely it was a listing with lots of photos linked, so I was able to have lots of fun. Had 1 photo of a Ferrari with text saying special bonus free with purchase and another pic was just text saying "I must not steal other sellers photos" repeated a few times.

It didnt take them long to send an apolagetic email explaining they didnt realise stealing my photos and html was wrong
