Sellers BEWARE OF SCAM offer

Received an email this morning from <Removed> telling me they found my store and wanting to do an e-commerce promotion, write professional product listing, etc. etc., find the link to the attached pic. It also had a legitimate looking eBay 'REPLY' button.

Obviously I did NOT open the link.  Just as obviously there was nothing on my listing about having any offer.

Must say I'm getting pretty sick and tired of all these scammers who want to try and get my bank information - JB HiFi, ATO, Aust Post - to name 3 recent ones.

So I just thought I'd give you a heads up if you receive one of these emails.

Spot on, joined today.

Some years ago my PayPal was hacked by Russians and have heard many stories of hackers from those regions.

Well, I'm glad I posted the warning. I'd hate to see sellers get scammed.

(BTW I've still got my eyes peeled for that Nykel!)

I've seen it before. Don't forget I'm an Australian pottery collector. And the Bemboka site is bookmarked. One of my 'go to' pages when I need some info.

I love those lengthy emails from someone saying they hacked into my PC, used my webcam to record me playing with myself while watching interesting videos and has got into my email inbox to email the video to all my contacts unless I send them funds.

Or those emails from a female confirming which suburb you're in (and they are right due to Domino's being hacked).

I've reported the scam to eBay, and sent a copy of the email content through to spoof.  It was also in my eBay messages, so the CS rep who rang me was able to see immediately that it was a scam/hacking message.  He also said that the Ukraine is the latest place for scammers to set up new accounts.  Though bad news for the scammers, eBay apparently have a lead on them.

The other thing he did say was that it was a good idea to put the user id on here as an upfront warning to others, as clearly I'm not going to be the only one receiving the email.

So luna-2304, I'm going to post the id again, and would appreciate it if you didn't remove it this time.  I know it's against policy, but in this circumstance I, and eBay, believe it is warranted.

The id is jyc_3265
