Hi, i sold a few items that i didnt know were counterfeit.
Ebay has now canceled my selling acount.
I can buy etc but i cant sell.
Has anyone experienced this before and what did they do about it?
Thanks for any advice.

well, the terms and conditions do say that you are responsible for your listings.
I'm sorry that this has happened to you and it does seem unfair when there are apparently many sellers of counterfeit items on eBay, but I guess it's like a speeding ticket - some people get caught and others don't.
but sheesh - how many is a "few" and how did eBay determine that they were counterfeit?
this is the first I've heard that eBay actually do do something to stop fraudulent sellers, so whilst it doesn'
t help you, I guess it is good to know they do take action some times to keep eBay a safe trading community.
The only suggestion I have for you is to contact eBay and ask them what you have to do to get the restrictions listed.

also, ask them to define indefinite
*cue memories of Brigette's meltdown on Big Brother*
but seriously, eBay's definition of indefinite may not mean forever and ever.
on the posting boards, prior to Lithium, we used to get indefinite suspensions if we were naughty (so I'm told *smirk*). But these suspensions were only for 90 days after which you could apply to have your posting priviledges reinstated. So maybe this "indefinitely" does have a predetermined time frame for appeal and reinstatement.

Thanks for your reply my*mum.
Yes its a total pain. Considering i asked the guy i purchased wholesale if they were original product and he said yes. And when i listed on ebay the original (authentic) manufacturer contacted thenm and complained 😞
What is the correct email addres i use to contact ebay about this?

don't email them, ring them!
top right of screen is a customer support tab, in there two tabs, one is contact us - follow the prompts and you will eventulaly get to a screen where you can call them or they will call you in the next few minutes.
intentionally or not, it seems that you have committed a pretty serious offence. best of luck with it.

If you try to do something like this again, contact the manufacturer and ask them if the company is an authorized distributor. Then run the relevant business checks on the actual company. You need to be able to prove authenticity of each item that you sell, and unfortunately, 'this anonymous dude on the internet told me it was all legit" doesn't hold a lot of weight.

It doesn't matter what anyone told you it is still your responsibility to check the authenticity of the products you are selling.
You should count yourself very lucky that the company just asked ebay to remove your listings, they could have come after you for thousands of dollars in compensation for breaching their copyright.
If you want any possibility of selling again I would let sleeping dogs lie for a few months and then ask for another chance promising of course to be more careful in the future.
